  • At one point today it looked promissing. B&Q's Cust Services had said they would ensure that we were happy (i.e. in same position we would have been in had B&Q honoured their contract), then they rang back 1hr later and said £20 compensation and full refund. We've told them that they have until 10am to make a better offer otherwise we'll take things further (legally & media). Probably won't help, but worth a try.
We've already e-mailed Watchdog, Radio 2 and Trading Standards and will be continuing the campaign tomorrow no doubt!
  • I had a call back today and they now know everything there is to know about the "loss of bargain" law. Quite a change from the first call I made on Monday and B & Q's "Not our fault, nothing we have to do about it" response. I think their legal department has decided to start earning their wages. They were very deliberate about saying that I have to find the exact duplicate of the table tennis table they were offering for this to apply, but appear to be quite willing for people to go through small claims for this.

If anyone got the table tennis table delivered could they post the exact make and model number so that I can try and source it elsewhere to take advantage of this law.

I'm am in the same position as scotinexile, and would like to know for sure the exact model before proceeding with loss of bargain through the small claims court.

B&Q have even refunded my money - even though I specifically said not to as I was seeking legal advise. That shouldn't make a difference as they could not back up me asking for a refund as it never happened!

Are the ones advertised in Argos, etc exactly the same model? Perhaps someone already with a table tennis table could help!?!?!

I did not receive the table tennis table so in the same position as you. However, this is what Monkfish said about it on the 26th of the July on page 28 of this same thread. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=734519&postcount=275

Do you make things happen, watch things happen, or just wonder, what happened?

    Hmmm.....

Just dropped the web site a mail - not sure if the one advertised is the Plum 500e? The picture (if correct) has a different model number on the side - "C-3-45e"???

Has anyone at all received a double swing and slide set priced at about £63 ?
I ordered this on 17/7. delivery due 2/8. Has anyone ordered this item after me but received theirs ? If so what is the make and model number ? Just trying to strengthen my case against b & q.
Have definitely been lied to and i feel their c s is appauling. Spoke to Fleur in head office today who was very helpful and apologetic and understands why i am angry and upset. Seems she may do something. 0845 6096688

I'm starting to think that 'Plum Products' http://www.plumproducts.com/ supply B&Q with the playcentres (custom built?) as well as the table tennis tables. The product range they advertise on their site looks very simular.

Maybe worth doing a bit of detective work in the morning

    From http://www.plumproducts.com/enquiries.htm

'Don't forget, you can buy online at Playcentres.com, TrampolineCentre.com and BBQcentre.com.'

    From http://www.playcentres.com/acatalog/index.html

Indoor Table Tennis Table - Price: £259.99 (Including: VAT at 17.5%)

Looks the same to me ! Seems like Plum are still manufacturing them then if they are telling us to buy from the above suppliers !

Bit !!!!!! off now that B&Q have refunded my money to my account DESPITE me stating that I wouldn't agree to a refund until I was satisfied !! Where do I stand now ?
