The PC also tried to install something on Norton I believe, and told me to uninstall and then reinstall, all of its own accord.
Me too - but you can't reinstall Norton because you don't get the disk! I'll probably uninstall it and install my copy of Systemworks instead.
Just put my new graphics card in - scored 8,600 in 3DMark03 with no overclocking but it got so hot (99C!) that I've had to put the optional fan on it. No spare headers on the motherboard but luckily I had a splitter cable. Card is still reasonably quiet though.
No problems with my HDD and I'm just ripping a CD to Media Player to see if that works too. NO - no MP3 encoder but it plays music fine from CD.

Well, after all that anticipation, my order hasn't been delivered as expected between 5 and 9 today. Have checked on the tracking site and it says:
BPO - Oxford No Access To Site

Does anybody know what that means? I can't find a number for WWI, and I don't suppose they'd be there now, anyway, but I am annoyed that no one has bothered to let us know it wasn't happening - they are the ones who arranged it after all! Has this ever happened to anyone else, and if so what was the outcome, please?

Thanks for the reply, biglugs - I guess we'll just have to be patient for a bit longer! Have emailed the Dell people (I know it is the carriers rather than them, but it's the only contact details I have) to inform them of no show and no notification, so we'll see what they have to say. It'll probably turn up tomorrow when there's nobody home  .

More likely they will phone tomorrow to say there was no-one in between 5 and 9 when they tried to deliver it!! Then they'll say their next available slot is Thursday morning next week ;)

    Arghh...
again I posted last nite… but its not here.
I must be hitting the preview or something instead.

The Norton thing said that it cant restore a fault or something, and needs reinstalling. Oh well.

Personally Bennifred, I would phone 1st thing in the morning and complain about not receiving it. I waited for them to phone the following day when it happened to me, and they didn’t. By phoning them early, you have a better chance of it making it onto the van today, and arriving at your house.
    Be nice

Then try asking them how to reinstall Norton on its own without having to restore your entire pc to the factory settings.
I would be persistent - it worked before for me and I'm going to do it again with my latest machine.
