I would go to crucial.
On their site they have a " memory advisor tool"
Just input, make and model of PC and it selects the ram that it requires.
If it doesnt work they offer a 30 day refund policy, and a lifetime for defective ram0 -
I just wished dell customer service was up to the quality of the stuff they sell.
I place an order 2 days ago and it seemed to be on system as being processed but when i didnt get a order number i emailed then only to find out my order didnt go through( bank verification failed) and was cancelled with out any notification. u would thk they would let u know if there was a problem with an order so u can sought it out.
I managed to place another order ,this time i made sure it went through by phoning them.0 -
Presumably it would be ok (for the Dimension 3000) to buy a 256Mb 333MHz module from Crucial and use it alongside the supplied (333MHz) Dell 256Mb module?
This is meant to be money saving but I just can't resist the temptation of Dell!
I intend to swap the 17" flat screen with my son's Dell CRT, add in a graphics card and sell the system on to my mate for £260. He will get a brand new P4 2.8GHz machine good enough for gaming for £260 and my son will get an upgrade of his CRT screen to a 17" TFT.:DYou don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -

I often find that orcalogic.co.uk is more reasonable for memory than crucial. Sometimes considerably. And their customer service is 2nd to none. Instant returns - after they've sent an appropriate box with pre-paid postage and brilliant phone support.
They have a similar configuration tool and guarantees of compatibility.0 -

Thanks for the tip... but when I tried it I found it doesn't have the Dell Dimension 5100 listed in the memory finder (Crucial does)... but I think I found the same memory Crucial would sell me on Orcalogic and it was actually a significant amount more expensive. Shame.0 -
To the person who picked up on the Dimension and Inspiron combo
deal.
In spite of Walsh Western and UPS best efforts to keep this eqpt in a midlands warehouse for a lengthy period I'm all 'putered up this weekend
with hardware which I'm sure will see me through for quite some considerable
time.
Nice one, thanks once again.0 -
do Walsh Western deliver on saturday?0

Do Walsh Western deliver?
Sorry bit ticked off with the appaling service I'm getting at the moment...somewhere out there is my desktop...cold and alone...waiting for mummy....0 -
A wonderful little West of Ireland Freight firm that grew fat on the boom of
Computer production that took place in Ireland during the 90's.
I worked for the outfit back then, and I'm afraid to say the service I've received
in the delivery of my recent Dell purchase has been abysmal.
Like so much else these day's the final mile (golden) for this outfit has been
subbed out to real cowboy's. I'm afraid that WWI will phone you up to offer
weekend and out of hours delivery i.e 17.00-21.00 delivery but their subbies
are obviously taking the money for this enhancement and taking the mick.
My order in reality was Raheen Limerick to Covenry in 16 hours, Coventry
to Stoke 4 Days......
Ho Hum
Good luck to all awaiting their eqpt stil.
P.S
Walsh's boss is Brian Enright, perhaps it wouldn't hurt to feign knowledge of this if you run up the brick wall of their Customer Services Dept.l0
