hi gambler, edf will be making up that money somehow, probably by incorporating it into the unit prices, therefore all customers are having to pay.

I've no problem with the charge being incorporated into the unit price as at least that way it shows up on the comparison site. I don't like hidden charges, especially when they appear as the last statement after you have spent 20 minutes completing the application.
  • Since my post on the 8th February about E-on price rises there seems to have been a lot of confusion . This is because E-on needs to be telephoned about 2 or 3 times to get the correct details from them.

I have now had my new contract through and my original post on the 8th February is correct in respect of Version 5 being the cheapest.

When I phone E-on I always get confirmation of what they tell me from different people because they have in the past told me incorrectly and I have been given extra Tesco points credited by a Supervisor together with their assurance that all staff know the new tariffs, but obviously they do not as there would not be all this confusion.

Speak to a supervisor if you are still getting conflicting advice and then ask for Tesco points for the inconvenience.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks to this thread, I have just changed ym ElectricityOnline Winter Saver tariff to ElectricityOnline Extra Saver 5 from within my existing Powergen/Eon account online.

However, I am now planning to move my gas supply to them from npower as well.

Does anyone know which of the following apply - if as an existing Eon Electricity customer:

    a) I can use Quidco or similar to join their dual fuel tariff?
    b) I can set up a different account just for gas and get cashback (then later merge the two accounts)
    c) I must transfer the gas supply from by telephone/website with Powergen and not get any cashback?

    Regards
    Sunil

Might be worth having a quick look at quidco as they normaly state the conditions of the cashback when you click the referal link.

Just switched from EDF to Eon. Did anybody else get the message about being chraged an extra £42 because Transco dont look after my meters?

Would this be included in the comparison site figures or not?

    Thanks

I'm with eon and get charged this. Until I read this thread I just assumed whoever I was with would charge me this. Is this not true? How do I find out who does and who doesn't to do a comparison? This charge is over 20% of my bill
