I recently (a week ago) applied to transfer to e.on. (ElectricityOnline Extra Saver 4 plan).
Got a welcome pack through stating such but the prices are exactly the same as I see quoted online today for the new ElectricityOnline Extra Saver 5 - I thought prices were going up?
Night units 5.25 pence per kWh
Day units up to 900 kWhs per year 17.283 pence
Day units 10.6785 pence per kWh0 -
Have just spoken to Eon on 0800 183 1377.
They have confirmed that if you change to Version 5 the tarrif remains the same as before the increase.
For example Version 5 prices (these prices quoted look like before v.a.t.)
16.18 electric primary rate
9.01 electric secondary rate
3.081 Gas primary rate
2.451 secondary rate
Now this was the price I was paying on Version 3 before the increase today.
Discounts remain the same.
I have changed to version 5 today and my energy prices will not go up.
Hope this helps.0 -

I spoke to them now on 08000563747(internet side) and was advised that all the customers on version 2-4 will go to version 5.The prices will also be going up she said unless you are on their Age Concern tariff or fixed price deal.
Thats a bit naughty of her as the age concern HAS gone up and the online ones havent, they have just been moved to V5Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!

Is the Age Concern tariff what they refer to when they say they are delaying the increase to "vulnerable customers"?0
-
age concern and prepayment customers have had their price rise delayed to the 1st april 2009.0

Does anyone know what the prices per unit are with the Age Concern plan? Tried their customer services but all they kept repeating was that the pricing structure is based on the number of bedrooms and number of occupants in the property. They must have a price per unit surely? Otherwise how can people figure out if they're getting a good deal?'The only thing that helps me keep my slender grip on reality is the friendship I have with my collection of singing potatoes'

I'm on v4, but I've just rung up to get changed on to v5 and was told "Are you sure, because that is pricier". I said I understood v5 wasn't changing (after reading it here) and was told that v5 prices went up today (8th). So, beware and don't be too quick to change.

Are there any major suppliers left who haven't leaped on the bandwagon yet?0

so is v5 the current prices are they likely to go up. Currently showing as the best saving for me now that BG v4 has been scrapped.0

Version 5 was launched on the 7th (the day the price increase was announced) and the unit prices and discount on this are the same as version 4 pre the price increase, therefore version 5 should be cheaper than version 4. If you're unsure login to your online account and click on change/switch product (or something similar) then compare the prices you're on with the version 5 prices. It won't show you the discount you receive but versions 3-5 are all the same.
One thing that has changed though is the threshold for the 2 tier pricing structure for gas. The higher rate used to be the first 4572kWh per year and it is now 2680kWh, this change hasn't been applied to version5 so if you're a low user you may be better off on version 4.
The electricity threshold has changed from 900kWh to 600kWh, but this only applies on the Energy/Electricity Guarantee products.
To clarify a couple of other points, Prepayment and Age Concern customers won't be affected by the increase until 1 April and Staywarm prices haven't changed.
Maz I think the person you spoke to was confusing Age Concern with Staywarm. Electricity unit prices vary by region so if you tell me what area you are in I can try and find the unit prices for you.
If anyone's got any questions about the increases I'll try my best to answer them as I spent most of today trying to get my head around all the changes.0
