just double checked, the unit prices are correct but the thresholds aren't.

for electricity the first threshold is up to 900kwh adn for gas the first threshold is up to 4572 kwh. probably still works out cheaper though.

just checked uswitch though, the thresholds are correct and online 5 still comes out cheapest, probably just a mistake on the units bit on energy helpline

I think ajaxgeezer means the version 5 prices include the price rise so won't be going up

The discounts on versions 3-5 are all the same so for the majority of customers version 5 will be the cheapest.

Thanks Stewie - for me, the new v4 prices represent an increase of 12% for dual fuel. If I go to v5, the unit prices are exactly the same and no increase. I find this hard to believe. It's as if existing customers who stay on v3-4 will bear the increases, whilst new customers come in at the old low rate. So, we should all move to v5 (still can't understand why eon told me v5 would be higher)
  • As a soon to be ex-EDF online customer...we had 25% increases on V2-4 and couldn't even change to the newest online tariff - think yourself lucky!!!...the new E-On saver 5 is still cheaper by 15% than my raised online ones at EDF...
even British gas customers could switch to newest online tariffs...not those of us with EDF ...their V5 would be cheapest would be cheapest...but can't get on it as existing customers!!!

Just switched from EDF to Eon. Did anybody else get the message about being chraged an extra £42 because Transco dont look after my meters?

Would this be included in the comparison site figures or not?

    Thanks

    gambler,

your gas is supplied by an igt (independent gas transporter). The IGT charges e.on more money than transco therefore e.on are passing on the charge to you. The Energy Guarantee tariff waivers the igt charge although it is quite expensive. Use the comparison site to see if moving to Energy Online Extra Saver 5 would still work out cheaper even with the igt charge.

sorry didnt read your post properly first time, the comparison site wouldn't have taken into account this extra charge (someone tell me if i'm wrong)

    geoffo m,

when the announcement was made all the new prices hadn't been set in stone. all that was announced was that all the tariffs were going up. it was only the day after that it was announced that v5 would be cheaper. most people assumed it was a new more expensive tariff.
