I think ajaxgeezer means the version 5 prices include the price rise so won't be going up

The discounts on versions 3-5 are all the same so for the majority of customers version 5 will be the cheapest.

Did you manage to get the prices for v5 Scottish Power region? I would appreciate them if you have them.

Are you sure? V5 is exactly the same as v4 pre-increase

I asked CS and the price for V4 and V5 is the same for gas but different for electricity.
    V4 V5
    Electricity prices
    First 225KW 16.66 16.99
    Extra 8.76 9.46
    Gas Prices
    First 1143KW 3.235
    Extra 2.574

I just moved home and is in the process of transfer to E.ON. The welcome letter gave the price of energyonline extra saver 4 but when i call cs I was told the price of V5 which I am going to pay.

The CS agent you spoke to didn't know what they were on about. See the above 2 posts for an example of the differences in prices between versions 4 & 5.

Thanks. I'll get on the phone to them.

Are the discounts likely to be the same or would that make a difference?

The level of discounts on versions 3-5 are the same (I think in Scottish Power area it's either 18% or 19%
  • My switch from Southern Electric to E.on went through the day before they announced these price rises! Murphys law, isn't it?

stewie _ griffin (great name, my fave character in FG), I am assuming you work for E.on, so sorry if it isn't you that I should be asking! What makes a 'vuleranable customer'? We have a disabled child who needs to be kept warm and we were on a kind of vulnerable customer list with Southern (I can't remember what it was called though!), is there such a list with E.on?

    Thanks

    Old Mcdonald,
"vulnerable customers" are the those on the age concern tariff and who pay on a prepayment meter. they have had their price rise delayed until april.

E.ON's cheapest tariff at the moment is the Energy Online Extra Saver 5, with this you have to pay by direct debit but it's worth it as it is so cheap. Do you know what tariff you are on at the moment?

E.ON do have a "Caring energy team" who might be the best people to speak to- here's a link which has some more info. give them a call on monday morning to see if they can help at all.

So are the prices correct on Energyhelpline for the Version 5 tariff and do they include the latest increases-If so they are competitive and I will switch from EDF?
