Hello everyone,
I'm a newbie and just about to embark on a DMP with Payplan, feeling a little scared but very positive as I'm actually doing something sensible moneywise for the first time in my entire life! Have read almost the entire DFW forum in the last few days - it's totally addictive.

I've just realised I've got my first payment to CCCS tomorrow of £650. However, my new debit card will only let me withdraw £250. Can I pay the first payment of my DMP on a debit card? I know it says no cheques but wondered if debit card was ok?
Hi, no I was told the first one has to be cash. But... if you have an account where you can take some out at the post office, you can take £250 out of a cash machine, £250 out at the post office (or over the bank counter) and then the next day take the remainder out.
You are ok to pay slightly later with CCCS as they can accept first payment up to 9th of the month so you could take some out today, using the £250 at bank counter and £250 at ATM and then take the remainder out tomorrow when you go to pay?
If not you will be ok to pay on Monday.

Know that feeling - I think it's natural for everyone to be worried what will happen at the start of a DMP, but yes you are doing something sensible moneywise - my only regret is not having done it months and months earlierworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Thanks CBI - that is a great way to look at it with the extra money (90/10) I like that idea. I guess it's important to balance things and look at the whole picture. Still, I have learnt from my mistake and know that I won't blow cash again in the future.
Hope you manage to sort the first payment out, maybe draw it all out over next three days and pay it first thing Monday to them, give thema call and double check that it would be ok?0 -

I pay by direct debit, but yesterday I got a note with my statement from CCCS saying the March payment must be made by the 7th because of Easter.
If CBI is going to pay by Trans cash then you need a week (at least thats what CCCS told me with my first installment) for that payment to go through, so it would need to be by tomorrow its paid as the 7th is next friday.:j DMP mutual support thread member - 135:j0 -

Just a bit worried at the moment because I had to open a new bank account, have yet to cancel my direct debits for loans and wait for the horrible phone calls to start...:eek:Hey, I'll survive.DMP Mutual Support Group Member # 1460 -

I should have done it in summer last year instead of getting yet another loan, which didn't sort any problems.

I really didn't get anywhere near the amount of phone calls I thought - and although GE were annoying - no-one was horrible to meworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0
