I think using cccs helped because I'm not very good at keeping records of everything so I know that I need to keep on top of everything now.
I have my folders for any letters they send or I send out.
I will try and pay everything via my online banking so that will help if I need to prove payments.
Maybe I'll have a look at excel and see if I can do some spreadsheets -but office work is not my strong point.
If you pm me your email address I can send you my dead dead basic one then you can rename it and use it as many times as you like!0 -

Are you already on a DMP? I ask because I am with the CCCS and wonder that if I left to set up my own DMP my creditors might just put interest back up again.
Rayday2 - Would the Creditors need to see copies of SOA and wage slip as proof of earnings?
The information in the National Debt Helpline pack - will have to get it out later when I have more time, quote it says they are not entitled to either and must accept a budget sheet, showing income and expenditure - so if they ask you just send them that. Lloyds did ask me to fill a form in once and I wrote back enclosing another budget sheet and said they were only entitled to that and never heard back from them again :T0 -
nomoneynomoney - I would hope that the Creditors will see that we are still committed to paying them back but now instead of having someone do it for us we will do it ourselves.

Sorry to sound a bore again lol but if you look on the national debt helpline website and use there budget sheets, letters etc, they also have a list of all the finance companies on there who financially support you. So check if you get any hassle and if that company support national debt helpline throw it back in their face. I did with Lloyds told them why were they not stopping interest when they financially support the charity whos advice I am following!0 -
Hi Mog....I'm at a similar stage to you, did the CCCS debt remedy thing & they recommended a dmp. I've emailed all my details & am waiting for stuff to come through from CCCS. Before I plucked up the courage to contact CCCS I spent sleepless nights wondering about the "what if's", always imagining the worst case scenario. I'm sure I will hate it when my creditors start phoning, my biggest worry is phonecalls at work..But I couldn't continue robbing Peter to pay Paul, because things were slowly spiralling out of control. Although the calls may (or may not!) be a bit of a nightmare at least now I'm admitting there's a problem, and doing something about it instead of sticking my head in the sand and ignoring it. I 've found everyone here sooooo helpful (even when I've asked LOTS of questions)!!!!:DLHS No 2220

I hope everything goes well. I certainly feel brighter after talking. However I know I will have up and down days and be visiting the forum often. We owe roughly the same so keep me posted on how things turn out.DMP Support Thread Member 142

Hello guys
I hope you are all well. It's been such a long time since I popped it to say hello. Firstly :xmassign: and a very happy new year to you all.
Everything is well in the world of smilealot. Moved back to bonnie Scotland which is fantastic. Not been very good on the old spending front so much tighten my belt and refocus. Every so often, I get a bit down about not being debt free until 2021 (oh deary me - there are so many happy new years between now and then!), and not being able to buy a wee flat for myself, but all in all, I'm a lucky girl to be getting nearer to that date and not further away from it. Also, I'm very lucky to have found you guys who helped me through the initial difficult times when everything seemed like a blur and I thought I'd be pestered by debtors forever. So once again, thanks so very muchly
A massive big squeezy hug to all my old friends on here. I panicked at first when I noticed that the second thread was closed, but happy to see a shiny new one as busy as ever. I'm not gong to mention you all for fear of leaving someone out accidently, but I miss you all and you know who you are.
Also, hello to all the newbies on here. These guys are amazing - Gordon Brown should wipe their debt out for services to the community.
Well, I hope to be back on more often now the move etc is over, but just in case I'm not :easter: he he!
Take care my lovelies,

Hi guys,
Just wanted to update and kind of add to the DMP thread! Smiel today have agree to freeze intrest on my OD, so that's now 2 frozen accounts out of the 8 we have, ( next have frozen also). Mbna have sent !!!!!! letters and keep trying to get hold of us groan, fd who said that they were going to pass us over to DCA as we refused to combine debts signing into a new CCA have been quiet the last couple of weeks. The CCS are due to make the first payment any day now so I wonder what will happen next? The sleepless nights have mostly stopped, but I am still dreadfully worried that MBNA will slap a charge on the house and I worry about our roof that needs fixing sigh... Need to make some more pennies!Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!0
