YOu don't send bank statements to creditors or wage slips ever, I believe Payplan may want some initially but that is for their eyes and they don't pas them on.

Mogminnie, I have just started a DMP with PP and they have never requested payslips. You will feel much better in a month or so as I have, thanks to the lovely people on this board. Rayday is the guru!
  • Mogminnie, I just have to say this;

    Please, stop worrying! :p

((((HUGS)))) to you, I know how stressful embarking on a DMP can be, I only strarted mine last month, so I remember it well. But please, remember, things are going to get better from here on in, not worse. Now is the time for you to sit back, relax, and realise that for once you DON'T have to worry about where the money's coming from for the next lot of bills.
There's no denying you will get phonecalls from some creditors, but if you can't face talking to them yet over the phone then don't. Write to them all asking for your number to be removed from their database (under the DPA), and ask them to communicate in writing only - this also makes it easier for you to relay any info back to Pay Plan.
No one has ever asked me for bank statements or payslips (d'oh! just remembered that I sent one payslip to CCCS as proof of income, but that's all, sorry!). They may ask you for your budget, which I believe they can do, but then you just supply them with the one Payplan created for you.
Please, just take one day at a time, and don't foresee problems that may not arise, you'll just stress yourself out even more when you should be starting to relax.
As has been said before, the support and advice on this forum is outstanding, and Rayday really is a Guru, so please take assurance from what we're saying to you - it's going to be alright!!!

    Hi Mog

Everyone is right - don't worry before its happened! I was in a real state the other week worrying what was going to happen next - and Rayday gave me that advice- and she's right! I went off and chilled for the evening with a glass of wine and some crisps ;)

Re the phone numbers - we changed ours because some rang at all hours and you're always unprepared for who is on the other end.

Now my husband will phone people if he receives letters, or write if it is more appropriate. That way - you contact them on your terms not theirs and when you are ready to contact them. If you can't cope with phone calls then do everything by letter. If we do letters we send them recorded delivery - just so we have proof.

If he rings he does the 1571 or whatever it is so they don't see the number. As long as they have a means of communicating (ie letter) that is enough for their needs.

Oh god - I've just read what I've written and realised it might scare you - Mog - not everyone gets phone calls so please DO NOT start worrying about that too ;)

and if they do we have found the majority are very professional - one even apologised to us today for a mess-up on their side :D

How long after you've sent your statement's/agreement to the CCCS do you get their welcome pack? I sent mine off last Friday and I've not received anything from them yet, although I've not seen today's post yet.

I have a feeling I will be back regularly for advice. It's a great relief to hear everyones experiences and helpful comments.

It was this thread (well a previous part of it) and everyone answering my questions that was the only reason I got the courage to sign up and start my DMP. Honestly I was soooo worried and really, there wasn't such a huge reason to be worried at all.

As has been said, some will ring you and some will take more than 5 minutes to stop interest but even if just one stops interest you will be better off than now won't you? You'll have money allocated and set aside for food, petrol, gas, electric without having to scrape round looking for ways to magic food up for your family.

As for bank statements and wage slips, only send stuff to payplan if they ask. If any creditor wants details of your income/expenditure just refer them to payplan and say they have your up to date schedule. When I did that (but obviously referring them to CCCS) they just said ok we'll contact them. So give payplan what they want and tell everyone else to get details from payplan. Payplan are there to help ;)

Mine was about a week - may have been a day or two longer. Still plenty of time for 1 March though - CCCS can accept first payment a bit later than the 1st - think it's up to the 9th they can accept it (paid my first one on the 6th I think) ;)

It was only last month I realised what a muppet I was being with one of my creditors messing me around, was chatting with newlywed and it dawned on me what a plank I was being and I sorted it out!

Thats the blessing of this support thread it can help anyone at any stage and I appreciate the support everyone gives me, no one in "real life" can give me the financial shoulder to cry on that I get here and I kinda like keeping it separate.
  • CBI, mine was posted on a Friday, and received the welcome pack on the following Friday - should be on your doorstep when you get home tonight I'd say!
