Oh dear, i'm really worried about this now. If I don't have a credit card processor for my business then I can't make ANY money, nevermind enough to pay towards a DMP.0

how long has it been since i've been on here!! I've missed so much...
just to let you all know i didn't go through with the DMP last time because I thought i was under control... until MBNA et al hiked their interest rates up to 34.9% and i find myself in a pickle once more... so sick of going round in circles i have signed up with CCCS and will go ahead full steam.. :T
already preparing myself for the worst they can do over the phone.. bring it on!!

Hi Everyone!
Sorry not been around - losing a bathroom puts the whole house in uproar - going 10 days without a bath I kinda thought you wouldn't want me around!
Just waiting for bad news from the tax credits people - last year hubby got promotion and a company car which we did not realise was included in tax credits (we knew we were taxed on it!) I know silly of us - but his company never gave us the correct forms etc so wondering now how much its going to take off us.
Anyway less of my trivial woes - what have I missed? Do we have any new members?0 -

You lost the bathroom? How careless.
Where did you find it? Down the back of the sofa along with an old remote control, two fluffy boiled sweets four biros and a nastily sticky pound coin I guess.0 -
With my PayPal credit card, i'm worried because I have a PayPal account, which I use for my customers orders online. I'm not sure if they would/could, but I fear they might close my business account (not the cc) if I include it with my DMP. The card is backed by GE Capital. I'd love to phone PayPal and ask them, but there's no way of doing it anonymously unfortunately.
I understand your concern there. Not sure what to suggest unless you speak to Paypal and are upfront about it. I would suspect they would be like the bank and if you owe money on the credit card would think they would take the money from your paypal account when/if any gets deposited there. Thats what my bank have done, I have arrears in my loan so they take it from my current account if any money goes in there. That's terrible.I've arrears on my bank loan too, and because i've a few PayPal bank transfers going in over the next few days am worried they might do the same to me as soon as the money hits my account. Have you applied for a new current account yet? I did that yesterday with Lloyds, so fingers crossed!
When I spoke with CCCS this morning I mentioned my PayPal query. The lady I spoke to coudn't promise anything, but she thought I might be able to include my PayPal credit card on my business expenses list and keep it that way, opposed to adding it to my DMP. Fingers crossed there too!!0 -
Hi everyone. :hello:
Firstly I would like to say a huge thanks to rayday2, newlywed and yellowmonkey for their advice. I was too scared to come in here so PMd them.
Me and fiance are on 63K worth of debt, and I finally plucked up the courage to ring up the CCCS today. I was having panic attacks in bed last night and couldn't sleep, and I wish I had rung them sooner. We haven't missed a payment on anything yet, so really wanted to get this started before we went into arrears on anything.
Lovely lady called Donna went through everything with me and has suggested a DMP, can't believe we would actually have spare money a month on it, can't remember the last time we had that as we have been robbing Peter to pay Paul for months now. We want to make overpayments as much as possible and as OH is on commission, some months we will able to do that, which is a big relief. Has also given me the push I need to give up smoking as well, which is great, I just can't justify what I spend on them. Might have to go to roll ups for a while just to ease me down gently.:D
I have a question, well just one at the mo. We need to open up another bank account, not related to our creditors, I know there is a sticky about bank accounts but wondered what accounts you DMPers recommend. Our creditors are Northern Rock, Morgan Stanley, Halifax, Abbey, NatWest and M&S so can't be tied to any of them.
So glad I found this thread, it is going to help me SO much, as OH is away for 2 days, I felt so alone this morning - its nice to know I have somewhere to come."Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did, except backwards and in high heels"

If your credit history is still pretty good you may be able to get an ordinary bank account but just have to ask them not to give you an overdraft or if you are strong conveniently forget you have one!
Well done for all you have done so far - you are very strong and actually sound a little positive today - its nice to hear!0 -
HI Summer. Well done for taking the first step. CCCS have been great and contacting them was the best thing I did - financially
For another bank account I opened an A&L Premier Current account - I applied online as it seemed easier -cashiers in branch couldn't even understand why I wouldn't want any overdraft! (Have to have more than £500 a month go in though) and you can specifically request £0 overdraft and no linked credit card - so that sorts out the CCCS no more credit promise
Sorry but not sure if A&L are linked to any of those you listed - my creditors were mint, GE and HSBC - best check that out firstworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0
