When opening your bank account don't forget to check the cashback sites. For example Quidco. I eternally will regret that I missed on £50.- because when I opened my account I didn't have a clue about cashback sites."Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

Thanks so much everyone. Just went for a little walk in the lovely sunshine to clear my head, its been so muddled up last few days!
Re Quidco, I am on Firefox, how do I make sure that my cookies are cleared.
CCCS advised opening 2 Bank Accounts, one for salaries to go in and for the debts and DMP and another for any spare money, so we know exactly what we have each month left, that sounds like a very good idea.
The A&L looks a good one, though have to make sure its not tied to any of my creditors. I was told to cancel my DDs to my loans and CCs and then next payment, just send them a token payment. That scares me as I have never missed a payment but she said I have to do that, then when I get a letter or phonecall from them asking why, I then tell them I am in the process of doing a DMP and that they need to be in contact with them to find out how much a month they will be receiving. Nervous but I know I need to do it.
Thanks again everyone, it means a lot."Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did, except backwards and in high heels"

Summer - I was nearly wetting myself worrying about phone calls (don't like the phone anyway
). I got one phone call to say I'd missed payment, when I told them about the DMP with CCCS they said ok, we'll wait for them to contact us - then no word from them at all. One other company rang me and that was GE who kept ringing but were still fine - turned out they should have flagged the system not to ring me for X days until CCCS contacted, so when they did that it all went nice and quiet. The phone calls weren't even a quarter as bad as I was dreading
Next phone call was from another creditor saying they accepted - they are the nice phone calls that make you smileworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Firefox - do Tools, Clear Private Data. Then when the tick boxes come up, untick saved passwords (and everything else if you prefer) and just tick cookies.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0

Thank you, again!
Does anyone know what Bank accounts I could look into that are not tied to these creditors? Or perhaps I should do a thread in the Bank Account bit of the Board?

Just downloaded CC, clicked on Run Cleaner and it says that it will permanently delete these files, is that ok? And how often do I need to run it to clear the cookies?
I have sent Eager a PM, thanks very much."Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did, except backwards and in high heels"

Hi
Yes it is ok to click as these will be permantly deleted but that is not a problem.
I generally run it before I start clicking and then when I have finished with Say Quidco i close it down and then run CC before I go to the next site.
Hope everyone is doing OK and I hope you all have a great day

I have a question, well just one at the mo. We need to open up another bank account, not related to our creditors, I know there is a sticky about bank accounts but wondered what accounts you DMPers recommend. Our creditors are Northern Rock, Morgan Stanley, Halifax, Abbey, NatWest and M&S so can't be tied to any of them.
I had trouble opening a bank account as was declined for a few but just received my card for Co-Op. Make sure you ask for a basic bank account no matter where you go to ensure you can open another account.

I was looking at Lloyd Classic - but I assume that is not a basic account? What is the difference? Thanks again."Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did, except backwards and in high heels"
