Thank you so much andytwonames, your reply has really boosted me.
I think I will log on and read your post before I phone the CCCS to remind me that I am doing the right thing.
I have already filled in their 'debt remedy' and the response was that I had enough disposable income to continue as I am - paying minimum or just above. However, I think my reckoning of my spending may have been inaccurate so I am starting a spending diary to see exactly what goes where.

I hope that the more detailed info I can give CCCS, the better the overall budget will be.

Big, big thank you again. You are a star!:A

    Hi andy
I am a bit scared to pay token to LLoyds as they could cancel my od before i can tranfer tax credits wages etc to other account if and when i get one. I am almost up to my od limit with LLoyds so if it gets cancelled any money going in will get taken by them and dds for gas ins etc wont get paid. There is no way i could catch up with dd payments without wages etc. I have no choice but to keep paying lloyds debts for a couple of weeks til its all sorted with new account.
I would be over £200 better off if i could get away with just token payment to them but doubt if all will be sorted by next wed in order to be able to cancel payment.

I see, that makes sense. I think I'm going to have to be careful over the timing too.

We'll all look back on this in a few months time and smile....

Tax credit next wed 23rd wages next fri 25th then loan dd on the monday 28th. If i dont cancel the loan dd in time they will just make my od over the agreed limit or wont pay it i expect.

What is the posibilty of taking the money out from a cash machine, on the Wednesday and Friday? cancel the DD's on the Friday, and then making token payments.

If CCCS are saying this then perhaps you really don't need a DMP. Perhaps just cutting back on spending (do you REALLY need to go to Paris to buy shoes every month?) Perhaps you have enough of a credit rating to do the martin lewis debt shuffling tricks where you move stuff on to cheaper deals. Difficult to judge from here.

When you fill in the figures for the debt remedy, over-estimate your expenses a bit (they are usually more than you expect) and under-estimate the income. If your earnings fluctuate, use the smallest figure the wage can be, not the biggest.

You shouldn't need courage to call CCCS, they are on your side and are there to help you not to criticise or judge.

Good grief - look at the time! I need my beauty sleep. Everyone go to bed, this can wait 'till tomorrow. Sleep well, we are all one day closer to being debt free.

not sure but i think cancelling it on the fri would be too late as the request from lloyds loan for the payment goes out a few days before payment due .Wish i knew for sure. I know its not gonna be paid after this month as hopefully DMP will be up and running but my od will prob just get worse

OK, well your in a mess, so adding another unpaid DD won't make much more difference.

Ring the bank tomorrow, ask them is it possible to change the DD to a standing order, a few days after the DD is due, then when you have the cash in your hand, cancel the standing order.

Under the terms of the DD guarantee, you can cancel it any time before it is debited. the fact that the banks do a bunch of stuff prior to the day is their worry, not yours.

Right... that's it.... I'm off to bed. I'm not even going to look back over this post for typo's. First one to spot the typo wins a goldfish (the swimming thing - not the card!)

    Hello everyone

Rather quiet on the creditor front - don't know if that's good news or bad? Only positive response to my DMP is CO-OP visa , but I have been thinking about that. This CC was originally NR and was all part and parcel of a together mortgage. Now I don't know that I ever signed a CCA relating to the CC and it has since of course been taken over by CO-Op. I wonder if they don't have a CCA which is why they are being so accommodating? Am going to request ALL my CCA's anyway, so we'll see.

My current headache is Northern Rock. As advised presviously they have told me that they catergorically do not accept DMP's but from others on this thread who have had them accepted this is obviously not true. I had a Default Notice from them on 3 March (had them before but have paid up BUT they never register the Default on my credit file - it just shows as one month late). They callled me on Monday and I have received a FORMAL DEMAND FOR PAYMENT - it is in caps at the top of the letter!

They say they want full repayment within 14 days and failure to pay MAY result in legal action etc. They are charging me interest of £8.03 per day:eek:

Has anyone else had a letter like this from NR - 10past6, perhaps you have? I find it strange that they are not trying to get payments out of me by calling/harrassing etc, which makes me think they will just get on with the CCJ and then probably CO.

Generally i am feeling a bit better - spoke to my parents yesterday. They were really understanding (my dad has had financial difficulties in the past and actually went b/r when I was little - i remember my mum saying the baliffs came and took some of her silver cutlery:o )

About to call NR just to see if I get a different response today?
