RS - try not to be scared. If you do get the phone calls/letters remember, they are just that, calls and letters. Thanks smilealot for your reply re interest charging by Capital One. I contacted CCCS who have sent a letter to CapOne to query interest charges so hopefully they will stop them again.

Hello
Sorry me again! Decided a dmp is the best option but just wondered if i could have a few more questions answered.
My oh usually brings in £1230-£1260 a month. Yet on paper it looks at least £100 more. (can occasionally get more, prob about 3/4 months of the year?) What do i put down as his wage as its never the same?
Also, tax credits will be reviewed soon, (next month i think) and it looks like we'll go fom getting £42 a week to £16 and that will probably be taken to repay what we will probably owe them. Should i wait until i know exactly what the situation is as i dont want to fill in the form now saying i get £42 a week and the dmp being set up only for it all to change and having to sort it all out again?
Last questionProvident is one of our creditors, would we have to tell him at the door that we're going on a dmp or will cccs call them and they just wont turn up anymore? If we have to tell him, it will be so embarassing:o
Thankyou x'They only had one cow!'0 -
Good news , Mrs Hampsterpoo rang Morgan stanley about the Cabot situation and they just said it was what they did and nothing to do with any missed payments or anything like that.
And they said that cabot would continue to take that same amount as previously agreed.
When Mrs Hampsterpoo said that they said there wasnt one set up , the guy from MS said just ring them and tell them the amount and , hey presto they agreed and are sending out a standing orderfom today.Member of change Pip's name back to PIP club

Hello again - I think I need a number!
I've had a horrible day. I took a call at work from Tesco to say that they couldn't accept my card. This was odd as I'd checked my account online this morning before work and there was enough left to cover the cost. I logged on to look at the account whilst the lovely lady from Tesco waited - to find to my horror that the bank had reduced my overdraft by £180!
Embarrassed - I had to cancel the delivery. I immediately phoned the bank to find that the account had gone through it's annual review and they'd decided that because of credit history they were unable to offer my that much overdraft. They hadn't emailed to let me know this though - and when I queried this they said that they didn't have to because the T&Cs of the account said that they carry out this annual review and that they can withdraw the overdraft at any time. On top of reducing my overdraft, they hadn't been able to honour a DD and so I'd be charged for this too!
After many tears (thankfully not many people were around!) they agreed to pay the DD, not charge me and to put the overdraft back up. However, they'd need me to reduce this every month by £40. This isn't included in my DMP (to my shame I built this up after agreeing my DMP) so I'd need to find this money from my housekeeping money. I said that I couldn't afford that but could find £20 - to which he said that he could only accept that for 3 months. I told him that I found it incredible that after 3 years, they've suddenly realised that my credit rating is bad - it's as bad as it was when I opened the account with them. He couldn't answer that. I've actually just found an email that I received this time last year, telling me that my overdraft would remain at £700 following their review and that in fact I was able to request an increase. Incredible - I guess it's the credit crunch getting to everyone.
My mum in law has offered to lend us the money to bring it down to £500 (which was the level they'd given me this morning), but my worry is that as well as having to pay her back, I'll also have to find money to reduce the overdraft more. I just want to get this gone, so any ideas are very welcome.
As all of my spare money is taken with the DMP then the only way I could afford to pay this, is to not put money away for emergencies, birthdays, Christmas, days out with the kids etc, and put this all to the overdraft.
I really don't want the extra hassle of finding a bank (not tied to any of my creditors) and moving the DDs etc.
I'm so fed up and low. This time of year is always difficult because of increases in the council tax etc, and the potential decreases in tax credits etc, but I don't remember feeling like this in a long time.
I try not to discuss this stuff with the kids around, but sometimes it can't be helped.
If you've managed to get this far, then can I thank you for your time. Just off to chew my lip to stop it quivering again.DMP mutual support number 174Total debt now (April 10) £0! - total paid off £30,221 or 100%I'm now debt free after 6 years!!:jNon smoker since June 2006 :j0 -
Hello. I am new to this! Signed up with cccs last week and have sent the letters to creditors. Owe about 45,000 between oh and myself. On top of this have HP for cars!!! Misspent youth followed by kids, and annual consolodation for the past decade have brought me here. Determined to pay off all except mortgage in five years! My main concern now is that my new bank account will not be set up in time to switch wages. I owe my bank £1200 in overdraft. Will they simply cancel my overdraft instead of taking pro-rata payments? Feel like I have swapped one set of stress for another at the minute.Started DMP with CCCS in April 2008 with debts of approx £55,000.
Current debt approx £18,000.
Aim to be debt free in 18 months!0 -

Rayday thanks for the number going to wear it with pride when I remember how to update my signature :rotfl:
Milliejon, hope you're feeling a little better - stupid banks! I've set up a new account and it's going to be so hard not having an overdraft, I keep trying not to spend money but every day a little more cash goes on little things - going to keep trying but I agree it's so hard especially with all the normal household bills going up. Hope you have a better day tomorrow:grouphug:

Thank you Reformed Shopaholic. I'm feeling a little better thank you, but I can't relax because I feel that I should be using every minute to be thinking about increasing my payments to my creditors. Trying to imagine money coming from somewhere.

Oh Millie I'm sorry more hugs for you :grouphug: sorry I can't offer much more than moral support , i've just spent the last hour carefully writing out my postal orders for token payment - it's a minefield just trying to work out who to make 'em payable to...If only I was that slow and careful when I got myself into debt in the first place instead of just merrily typing in the numbers to pay for my "shopping"
Going to reheat the bath now, Millie I'm sure some people will pop in to give you some support...hope you're ok and hope things seem a little brighter tomorrow xLBM: 31.03.08 - Debt at 31.03.08: £38000  (not including student loan)Member #172 of the DMP Mutual Support Club 'Spendaholics Anonymous' Thread Member No 550
