Hi there, could you add me to the list please. I've been on a DMP with CCCS for just over a year now and it was the most sensible thing I've probably ever done!
Just have a question about credit reports, I got brave and had a look at mine yesterday (laughable that the fact that I haven't applied for any credit in the past year goes down on them as being bad) all the debts that are included on my DMP just show as defaults and there is nothing to say that I've an arrangement to pay them, is this normal? No problem if it is but I just think to anyone looking at my credit report its just appears that I've defaulted and done nothing to pay them off. Don't get me wrong I'm not going looking for any more credit ever, but may want to remortgage at some point once debt is settled (though I guess at that point the debts would show as settled) just wondered if anyone knew the answer.
Thanks0 -
Silou,
I believe this is normal. You've effectively broken the terms and conditions of whatever accounts you had and so they are entitled to put a default on. A DMP I think also doesn't show up antwhere on your credit file.
These defaults should disappear from your file after 6 years of their being put on, according to others on this forum. So if the defaults were put on about the same time you started your DMP then in another five years they should be gone. Don't have enough knowledge to say whether or not it would improve your chances of a remortgage after then though. Anyone Know this?0 -
Hi ILGD - it's lovely to hear from you. Hope you are well.
No probs skibadee, hope the calls settle down soon.
Hi YM! :hello:
Welcome silou. Great to hear from another person who's DMP is going well. It's encouraging to hear. I've queried the default on credit report issue recently as well, wish I knew some firm answers. I have lots of Ds on each account. I'm worried that each and every one of those takes 6 years to disappear, in which case, the defaults will still impact our credit report for 6 years AFTER our DMP is finished. That's not a good prospect!! Let us know if you hear anything.
Hi shinyhead - I love your footnote!

Hello!
Seem to have missed so much in a few days - if there is anyone who wanted adding to the list on first page just shout.:A
Hope everyone has had a good weekend. Big welcome to any new people!
Hey Rayday, yes please can you add me...I'm a newbie, just sent off my agreement letter and wage slip, bank statement and copies of all my creditors _pale_ to CCCS today - just need to get 6 more p.orders to post off token payments to all 11...I don't know what the next few days/weeks/months/years are going to bring and i'm scared that it won't be too pleasant for the next few weeks  but i'm just so happy to have found everyone on this board - it's been such a great help and relief already. Would never have known about CCCS and dmp without this and reading how you're all getting on - the downs as well as ups really does help.
A big Hello to everyone old and new, think i'll be here for a long time yet!
Cheers for all the support and info. you're all great :beer:LBM: 31.03.08 - Debt at 31.03.08: £38000  (not including student loan)Member #172 of the DMP Mutual Support Club 'Spendaholics Anonymous' Thread Member No 550 -
Hey RS! Glad to hear you'll be around for a while - we'll all get to know each other by the end of our DMPs
Some of us used to laugh that if we won the lottery we'd have a big DMP Supporters Thread party so we could meet each other. One problem though... none of us can afford the lottery tickets, ha ha! Keep smiling hun, smilealot :rolleyes2

Cheers smilealot and thanks so much for the warm welcome I appreciate it:beer:
I've gotta keep buying that lottery ticket ...well you never know:rotfl: only thing is i'll have to work out how to make/keep a pound - plenty of ebaying ahead - the DMP is just step one, next step Ebay Queen, then the World :rotfl:
Thanks a million for all the support - will check in over next few days when I have sent out my token payments and when (no doubt) the nasty letters/calls start comingbut keeping positive just now as i've sent off my letter etc to CCCS and I've got everyone here to support me.
Off to bed now, take care everyone, and if anyone has read the threads and is feeling desperate tonight about their debt, please post for advice (i'm not much help being a newbie) and I know you will get the advice and support you need - you are not alone :grouphug:LBM: 31.03.08 - Debt at 31.03.08: £38000  (not including student loan)Member #172 of the DMP Mutual Support Club 'Spendaholics Anonymous' Thread Member No 550 -

Sorry to hear about Cabot hamsterpoo. Hopefully they'll be alright about it as they'll see you've been paying religiously for all this time. Is there any way you could save up a bit to make a F&F offer? They might be desperate to settle? Hope you enjoyed Mariah
Thanks smilealot , we're always trying to save to pay off someone early , hopefully the FO will be nice and make Citi pay us back everycharge as we would get back enough to clear 3-4 creditors of at the same time.
Is it just us or do others just feel if I could NOT pay everyone each month I could clear this debt this month ,
then this the next and then this one ,
having come so far now the final amounts we owe on lots could be cleared in 1 payment IF we didnt pay the others their £7 or £40 each month?
Its Tempting , what they gonna do ? take away our credit :rotfl:

Shinyhead and smilealot many thanks for your responses. I can understand that t's and c's of the credit agreements were broken thus the D's on the credit report but I wish it showed somewhere that some effort was being made to repay them. Like you smilealot I'm a bit conerned that it will be 6 years after DMP is completed before they disappear. Need to look into it further and will report back if I find out anymore.
Thanks again.0
