Loopy, you do have to pay a little extra for postal orders but cannot remember the cost. Also, you make it payable to the creditor on the actual order and keep the slip as this is proof you have sent it.

Hello everyone. Well, you can tell it's Saturday as the lovely, friendly letters from our Creditor pals dropped through the letterbox this morning (it's always a Saturday!) Grrrrrrrrrrrrr .....

I will read through all the threads whilst munching on my chocolate :)

Why is that  My post was horrible this morning 5 different creditors all claiming that they've heard nothing from Payplan. In the case of 2 of them (Both Lloyds TSB) I know its a lie as they recommended I go to payplan and have contacted them themselves to give updated balances.

I guess this is to be expected at the start. Have already written to them all recorded delivery to re-iterate my Payplan Id and point out that they have all received the first payment now.

Mmmm Chocolate - Mini Rolls were on special offer in Iceland this morning so I have 18 to work through :j Had 7 already :D

Loopylu - Postal orders are 47p for values up to £4.99

    HI,

I have been paying the creditors via online banking and it has seemed to work (I can see the payments on the statements). No letters from any of them this week but I know that Lloyds have been trying my land line several time.

As soon as I can confirm my tax credits for new tax year I will update the creditors and make proper offers and then I am sure the correspondence and calling will truly begin.

I have two packs or Mr T value chocolate digestives in the cupboard. As soon as I get my DD for her nap I shall go and sit down with cup of tea and some biccies!!!

Hi All, a DMP is something that I'm having to look into, who are the best company to go with? Payplan or CCCS?

    Hi there,

I'm with CCCS and started my debt free journey back in July of last year when I first contacted CCCS - I completed their online debt remedy first and then took it from there.

They have been invaluable to me and although it was hard for me to admit that I needed the support at first - it's the best thing I ever did and it means I have money left over once all my bills have gone out.

It is such a bizarre feeling to see a positive balance in your bank account!

Good luck and keep coming back for support everyone is more than helpful.
  • Just in case people don't know sunbing have got a free fiver on at the moment for new and existing accounts

On my DMP Lloyds have agreed payments on y o/d and loan but not heard about my cc yet. A & L have agreed (o/d) but all rest not heard from. Made three apyments now but only two been paid to creditors as yet. All very quiet though on the calls front but have beed defaulted and my accounts terminated by two or three of my creditors

Has anyone any moneysaving ways of downloading music or in which forum should i ask?

    Hi Reformed Shopaholic,

If you haven't yet opened that account with A&L then do it via quidco and get £50.- cash back. :D

    Marru

:( whoops, too late, got my card (debit not credit) and everything!

DMP letter came today :T so just got to send out my token payment letters - can't find the template I know it's been mentioned a million times - sorry.

Can i have a link to it please?

Also, if DMP payment goes out on first to CCCs but they don't pay my creditors until 25th - should I be sending any that were due a minimum payment a token payment??

I was about to send the token payment to 4 of them that were due a payment before end of this month and then leave it, as CCCS DMP should start then but not sure what to do now? More postal orders, more token payments? Just want to make sure i'm covered until they get contacted by CCCS....

Either way would appreciate advice and don't mind if I have to pay another token payment cos i'm soooo relieved to have found this site and all of you - trouble is i'm spending a bit too long on it each day reading all the threads and should be cracking on with getting my letters done and signing my DMP form:doh:

Gonna get onto it now and thanks in advance for the token letter template if one of you can post it.

Hi newlywed and all, in repy to the question

"Hamster - haven't any of your credit cards stopped interest at all? If so, then does it really matter who gets paid first? if they are charging interest then I know what you mean but CCCS can write and request charges are stopped."

The CAB set up the payment amounts highest debt etc as you'd expect but they didnt take into account any interest , thats what I meant.

well its a mix some stopped,
    some didnt mbna 23.90% x 2 cards,
barclays have just recently started adding 1%
and sainsburys have gone back to adding 14.94% as the amount we now pay them each month is above the min required payment and they said they are allowed to now. Never questioned that till now.

Also we didnt get a letter today instead we got a call from Cabot saying that there are now incharge of the Morgan Stanley account , they apparently sent a letter 26th march , but we've not got it yet or anything from MS to inform us of this.
I rang Cabot back as I was out and they want the CAB to contact them as there is nothing set up on the account.
So were do we go from here ?

One good thing is that I'd over looked asking MS about any charges so thats my next job.

  • Afternoon all. Please can I join your merry band?

I'm awaiting my interview on Wednesday morning 9.15 and I opened up a
Co-op Cashminder Account last night. It only took 5 mins over the phone - well impressed.

After spending the last 5 or 6 years trying to batten down my debt and noticing year on year that it's increasing beyond the point of no return, I have had to pull my well dug-in heels out of the soil and admit defeat. I've not been living a life in a long while and I know that OH and the kids have felt the rough end of my irritability. SO in order to save the hub of family life, I have jumped ship and must admit, I've slept far better these last few nights.

I'm not one for bankruptcy so I'm hoping the interviewer will recommend DMP instead, but if it has to be BR, then so be it. Fingers crossed for DMP tho as I really would like to pay it back.

I've been reading this thread for a few days nights now and I've made it as far as page 61. You guys really support and look after each other, don't you. It's nice to know others are in the same boat. I wouldn't like to think I was facing this without this site as it would be a major panic. It's great to be able to ask a question and receive a reply immediately, rather than waiting for offices to open the following day.

    I'm rambling now, whoops!

    Hello guys :hello:

A big welcome to our new members. It's great to see that more and more people are finding our thread. Hope the journey is a smooth one for you all, but if not, we'll be hear to help you through the rough water.

Lovely the though of Freshco chocolate digestives Marru... think a wee trip might be called for  Enjoy the egg Whoopsie & the mini-rolls tigert!

timetobefree - great question, I also need a cheap way to download music. I used to use allofmp3.com then mp3sparks but neither work now :(

reformedshopaholic - I would send another token payment to be on the safe side. At least you can say you've sent it if they start whinging! I can't remember where the letter link is (so long ago that I did all this stuff!) but I'm sure if you do a search using the function above you'll find it somewhere. Let us know how you get on.

trulymadlydeeply_in debt - loving the username!! Good luck for the interview. I obviously don't know your facts and figures, but remember it's your choice, so you can go with DMP even if the reccommend BR. Payplan keep advising me to do an IVA, but like you, I'm keen to pay it all back, and I've recently chopped 4 years off my repayment time, so it is possible :j

itsnowtime & hamsterpoo- I just looked at your signatures, you are doing brilliantly, lots of debt being paid off. Well done!!

Hello to Gemmzie, loopy_lu and everyone else. Hope you are having a lovely weekend so far. I was up and about tutoring this morning - extra pennies :D Apart from food, I'm hoping it's going to be a NSW (no spend weekend)!

    Speak soon,
