Good time to get it put into your DMP then now. Also they will keep hounding you peace of mind is so much better and add charges on, once added into DMP there should be no more charges.0

May is still a month away see what CCCS say on Monday. It will obviously make a small difference to the amounts creditors get but hopefully not change the date.0

rayday, I see what you are saying and have to agree now. I've been thinking about it this afternoon and told OH that we leave things be at the moment and see what the coming months (and years) bring. There is so much to deal with at the moment and my poor brain cell can't cope with anything else to be honest.
I wanted the info however as there is so much information about it online and I really had no idea whether we should be requesting CCAs or not.
However, that can go on the back burner for now.*Official DMP Mutual Support Club Member No 147**Official DFW Nerd Club Member No 923*I have no idea what I'm talking about!0 -
I am no expert but having done it for two genuine reasons I don't feel any peace of mind. I feel more peace of mind sending a £1 a month to a creditor. I think from what I read of the threads it is so grey areas and I like things to be black or white.
Its good to keep the knowledge there and read to see how others progress but one of the comments "oh well there is always bankrupcy" did not fill me with confidence!0 -
Hi Everyone
Hope you dont mind my popping along to this thread - have had a bad week (to put it mildly) ending up in tears yet again after the constant chasing phone calls. Can I change my phone number? I'm so tired of the calls now.
Anyway, I found the determination to go through the CCCS budget sheet yesterday and even spoke to a really lovely lady and I know that I can go back to them at some point if I choose to.
My question is that because I have got so far in being able to get payments reduced and interest stopped on pretty much all but 3 accounts, do you think I'm able to go back to each creditor and just tell them that the amounts originally agreed to be repaid are not realistic and ask for them to be reduced again? I'm not sure how to work out a proper pro-rata offer for each creditor - it was just guess work last time.
Sorry, just a bit of background (I dont want to bore you!) but Hubby went self employed last July ... we're in a worse position now than we were then (he went on the taxis thinking that would be the answer to our debt problems) and although he has now secured full time employment, when I work out the budget sheet there's still not enough to cover all the priority/household things AND pay the creditors the sums previously agreed.
Apart from my troubles, can I just say that you all seem to be doing so well and I just hope that I can feel the same about my own financial troubles sometime soon!
Thank you all - just by reading your contributions helped me contact CCCS yesterday.

Hi guys,
Just checking in to say hello. Been a v busy week so not had a chance to help out, but looks like there's been lots of fantastic advice being dished out. Thanks to those of you who replied to my earlier post - I appreciate the support.
Had my PayPlan review this week. I was so scared, unexpectedly so! Anyway, I've increased my payments by about £75pm, reducing my repayment time by 4 and a half years :T I'd love it to be more, but small steps. So I'm now aiming to be debt-free by April 2017. That will continue to shorten though, as my salary goes up a wee bit each year (not much, but still!) and my car will be paid off just over 3 years time, so that will add another £160pm to the pot, so hopefully I'll be debt-free by the time I'm 32.
I've decided to start scrimping again (properly!) and going to put any extra pennies into an account to save up for a house deposit. Hopefully I'll be able to get one together in time for me becoming debt free, so I've got two targets. Either that or I could pay off more of the debt and THEN save for a deposit. Maybe that would make more sense?!
Anyway, just wanted to say thanks again for the fabulous support. I honestly didn't think when we started this thread that I'd get through the first year, find a way to make comfortable repayments and still live a decent life. Money wise the future is bright and will hopefully get brighter as time goes by, so for those of you who are starting out, hang in there, it will get so much easier (especially with the help and support of these fantastic guys).
Take care,

sunshine38 - I don't think there is anyone on this planet who has not worked out that things are getting more expensive. With the CCCS behind you this time I think most companies would accept it anyway.
Just in case you ever go it alone next time, you don't have to work out pro-rata payments (although i could bore you with the formula) there is a budget calculator spreadsheet on the National Debt Helpline website that does it for you!
But I think you could probably do with some morale support now and have done the best thing possible. Now you have made those first steps it will be easier.0 -
Morning peeps
Just a quickie. When you have your review with Payplan/CCCS do they contact you or do you have to let them know it is due ????.
Hope you all have a great Sunday and the day is fairly zipping along what with the clocks going forward and all. Funny how many clocks I have in my house :rotfl:
Take care
