Hi, can I join? Have been dithering, lurking and seriously burying my head in the sand since last August but have finally called CCCS this morning and got telephone appointment with them Tuesday afternoon to set up DMP.

Am relieved to be ready to deal with the debts, and feel much stronger than when I first found the site thanks to everybody sharing their experiences. Just not feeling so alone has really helped me to the point where I have now managed to tell my DH about the situation, something that back in August I would literally have rather died than do.

    Just wanted to say thanks.
    Tara

Tara added you to the list.

Its quite scarey how quick it is growing and just shows none of us are alone.

Well done Tara on taking the first step :)

    Hi teecee and Amani!

I must be a right sad moo today, after burning my fingers making profiteroles (Anthony Woral Wotsite git recipe - it was a rubbish one had to improvise far too much!) I have just made a menu for tonight too, long gone are the days of booking a table lol!
  • Hi Ray

Hope your fingers don't hurt too much!
Thats one thing i'm looking forward to when i'm debt free, booking a table and having a lovely meal out without having to worry about where im gonna cut back to pay for it!!!

Hmm sounds heaven and even better the children would have grown up by then and no baby sitters - actually the way I am going I will probably have grand children!

Thanks guys. Good to know it's not just me feeling the price increases recently.

Think I will have to sit OH down and explain that all the things I pay for have gone up through the year - gas, elec, food, petrol. The stuff he pays only goes up once a year - rent, council tax. That's why I'm stuffed really

Will have to explain that even if things don't go up any more, I'm still struggling and if things go down later I can always up the DMP payments again.
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?

Sounds very wise, it is better to ensure you have enough to pay your DMP rather than miss a payment. I had to reduce mine when interest rates went up and even Lloyds did not query.

rayday, have you ever had to reduce payments? We're in the same position as you, doing it ourselves. Gawd it's a mess at the moment

Yes my first review I had to reduce payments, it was when interest rates started to go up again. I just sent out another offer letter with the new budget sheet - the ones I use are off National Debt Helpline site.

I put the reasons why I had to reduce and said I would increase payments again as soon as the situation improved.
