Transfer Cash ISAs Discussion Area

If you dont want to transfer your isa, you could always switch your existing low interest variable isa into a higher rate fixed isa with the same provider.
I have done this with nationwide bs this morning. Just go into branch and fill in form or ask for a isa application pack online. One form to fill in for new isa.
This doesnt count as a transfer because you are staying with the same provider, and does not affect your allowance for current year.0 -
Apologies if this has been asked before but if both me and my husband have an 09-10 ISA and would like to transfer them in 10-11 to a better rate are we able to transfer them both into the same new ISA?
My money is his money and vice versa so we just wanted to combine them as it would save the trouble of transferring both into seperate new accounts and then managing them seperately. I understand that for tax puposes that may not be possible but it seems a bit daft for married couples not to be able to pool their savings together.
Any clarification would be much appreciated folks!0 -

ISA's are individual saving accounts and are linked to a persons NI number0 -

It can take up to 30 days to transfer an ISA.
Quote from MSE:-
"The Inland Revenue has set a 30 day limit for the transfer to take place, although this is 30 days for your old provider to carry out the transfer, and not 30 days for your new provider to put the transfer in motion".0 -
Help, I keep going round in circles. I came to this thread via this link. It's mentioned on Kazza242's "Cash ISAs - best currently available" list.
Then on the last page of that thread, I see this message and click on the link, only to find myself back on the same thread.:o
I am looking for a new cash Isa (best rate) and want to transfer my previous ISA's at the same time. Can some kind soul point me in the right direction. TIA.
I am currently with NS&I, I am over 60 and a tax payer.I tend to get a little 'los't in some of the discussions as op seem to know so much more than me.
Is there an idiots guide to finding the best Cash ISA and how to transfer into it? I have never transferred before.0 -

That link will work. Look for the section which says "Allows Transfers In"0 -
I wish to transfer my last (and previous year's) ISAs into one account, but put my this year's ISA into a higher paying account that does not allow transfers.
Will I be able to open the Birmingham Midshires account at 2.7% for my old money, but not pay anything into that account this year? Then I could pay my new money into the Barclays 3.1% ISA. Or will Birmingham Midshires insist on me paying this year's money as well?0 -
I'm trying to transfer my Golden and 'Tax Haven' ISAs from Barclays to Santander - on their ISA Transfer form they want the address of the current provider - this probably seems like a daft question, but does anyone know whether I put my local Barclays Branch, or do I have to put the addresses that relate to the sort codes (both different for each ISA), which are somewhere in Liverpool??
Many thanks if anyone can tell me whether this matters!0
