£5,100 must be invested as a lump sum - no transfers in are allowed
(Kazza - your comment in post 1 says "2010/11 transfers in only accepted" and possibly needs changing)
So does this mean that it is a better ISA to have instead of the A&L?Santander one, as the interest is a bit higher.KEEP CALM AND keep taking the tablets :cool2:0 -
depends what you mean by better. Yes it has a higher initial rate, albeit only 0.05%, but a&l and santander are 2.7% above boe base rate so there is the potential for the rate to increase.0

Ok thanks. So which one is the best bet? I'm looking for an ISA to be fixed rate for 1 year, and want to put in £5,100 in one lump sum.KEEP CALM AND keep taking the tablets :cool2:0 -

Choosing between Coventry 3.25% and Santander 3.20% I would probably go for Santander. Basically, if rates remain unchanged you will have lost out on the princely sum of £2.55. If rates rise, you will gain £10.20 for each 0.25% rise in base rate. I've not looked at the full list so don't know if there is anythingh better available.

If you value your sanity, I wouldn't go near Santander. HERE'S a link that tells you about the best ISA rates currently available.0 -
I see M&S have have adjusted their rates downwards the three year rate is now 3.25%.

But how long would the useless Santander take to transfer your ISA at the end of the year?0 -

Well as I've said before I've used Santander (abbey) for savings probably for 30 years now without issue. I have however today sent off 4 sets of transfer papers, all to one bank, 2 of the transfers fromm Santander. I'll see how they compare and let you know however it goes,;)

Well, the Santander ISA looks good. Is it worth investing now or waiting a few weeks to see if anyone else is offering better rates?A shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist.
