Can you freeze cooked chickens from the supermarket?
Also I buy the 49p pack of 3 peppers at the moment from Aldi ,slice them then freeze them while they're cheap. If you dont like the green ones put them on a windowledge and they go red (seen on a diff thread on here).

I've recently started to freeze veg like carrots, broccili, beetroot, in portions, but have been blanching them first and I'm wondering if this is necessary or can I put them straight in the freezer without the hassle of having to drop them in boiling water first?0

Turnip?
I've grown a bit but there's not enough to make stew...yet!If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
Hi does anyone know if you can freeze home made peppermint creams? My soon to be daughter in law wants me to make some for her wedding favours and I don't fancy doing them just before the big day.
If it's old-fashioned, just icing sugar and peppermint oil plus a bit of colouring - they should keep for a couple of weeks in an airtight container, kept in a cool room.
Not sure how they would freeze - have you time to experiment with a few?0 -
I have some puff pastry in the freezer I want to use and was thinking of making a variety of pasties. It will probably make quite a lot and as there's only me, I can't then eat them all (well...I could probably try
) so would like to freeze them.
I know you're not supposed to re-freeze pastry once thawed, but would it be ok to cook them, then put them in the freezer? If so, any suggestions on re-heating at a later date as I suspect they'll go soggy just microwaved, but may dry out if they go back in the oven.
Thank you!
Edit - don't worry about this now as it didn't make as many as I thought, so i'll cope with eating them this time!Grocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100

Can I freeze marrow if I chop it up?
I got a huge one today (over 1ft long ) and I don't think there's any chance of me eating it all.Grocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100

I have frozen lightly steamed marrow before - on thawing, it mushes up as it contains so much water but I reheated it (after draining) in a tomato based sauce and tasted OK..................so I'm told0

Thanks, i'll give it a go! It'll probably end up in a curry anyway so shouldn't matter too much if it goes a bit mushy.Grocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100
