I've got a pack of 12 mince pies here. I'm presuming they will be ok to freeze (nothing on the box) - what do you guys think?
Thanks.0 -
I can't think of any reason that you couldn't freeze them.Fibro-Warrior0

Yes, sounds okay to me0

I froze mine! Pastry came out a little bit soggy when defrosted but I put the next lot defrosting on a wire rack and they were fine!0

Hi iwannanicerlife,
I freeze them and they're fine. Once defrosted if you refresh thenm in a warm oven for a few minutes and the pastry won't be soggy and they'll taste freshly baked.
I'll add this to the Freezing - quick questions thread. later.

i did the same well not 7 boxes but 4 boxes for 10p each - morrisons couldn't get rid of them quick enough LOL
brought them home in freezer and defrosted 1 or 2 at a time when we fancied one they were fine along with the single cream at 10p a pot -0 -
I bought some mince and intended to batch cook with it, however for one reason and another I didn't get chance to use it so I froze the meat before its use by date.
If I defrost it, cook with it and make a batch of chilli / bolognaise etc is it OK to then refreeze the cooked food into meal size portions as I initially planned to do?:hello:0 -
Yes. The safety-rule is to never freeze anything in the same state twice, so what you're proposing will be fine0
