...the manager of my local branch called me and left a message on my voicemail.
he said he is checking out what has happened and will have a response by Friday, but I'm not holding my breath.
Either way, I'm going back to see my "favourite adviser" in the branch on Saturday.
Snarffie, the staff at your branch may know what they are doing, but mine seem not to care. What branch is yours? Maybe we should all open our accounts at you branch instead...0 -
BTW, the advisor told me that interest will be backdated to the application date. We'll see.
Sorry. Your advisor was wrong. If you are talking about transfer from your old ISA provider.
If he/she told you that interest would be backdated to the date they received the cheque from your old ISA provider, it made more sense.0 -

For some reason, they said my current address with LTSB is overseas which I lived more than 8 years ago. Not matching with the one in Kent RBS. So they returned the cheque back to Kent R BS on 17 Mar 08. Now they are requesting the cheque back again from Kent RBS.
I have been thinking of it all day. It doesn't sound right.
1. I have a current account with debit card, cheque book, payin book with them. All of these sent to my current address.
2. I received the welcome letter regarding my fixed rate cash ISA open. Then I called again for the transfer form, it was sent to me at my current address. Even the transfer form has my current address.
3. I sent them a complaint letter on 11 March to their cash ISA department with my current address.
So, what I don't understand is why they claimed my current address is not correct in their system? It is impossible.
My guess is when they received my complaint letter on 12 March, the staff dealing with my account was not happy with my complaint, so just made an excuse to returned the cheque to my old ISA provider. This made more sense.
I need to have a glass of cold water, this LTSB is really getting on my head.0 -
Just adding my story to all these positive Lloyds TSB Messages Yeuk lol
Opened ISA Weds 5 March in my local branch Request to transfer Icesave and Barclays,
18 March 08 Icesave closed = funds dont appear yet though when phoning re another account a girl told me all my funds were lost - Hallelujah
Today Lloyds TSB tell me Barclays is being chased, but I know they havent even been contacted in the first place.
Lloyds TSB ..... for the journey ........ to hell and back (Ok I know, I'm exagerating)0 -
Could i just point out to Bristolldsfan, that i have been told that transfers from non-Lloyds sourves will NOT recieve any backdate interest, and that your "Year" runs from when your application is accepted, not from when they get your transferred money, this could be 1 month in other words you wont get 6.5%, it could work out ot less than 6%! Plus youve lost 1 months interest!0

So what u are saying is that these reported personal experiences are not correct.

Yup. Mine's up and running.
12 Feb : Applied in Lloyds branch for transfer in from Abbey
13 Feb : Account shows on online banking with nill balance
23 Feb : Letter from Abbey stating account closed and transfered to Lloyds
06 Mar : Funds appear in online banking
09 Mar : Letter from Lloyds confirming backdated interest
So it looks like you need to allow 4 weeks for the transfer to happen. However, all is not well. Full story back in post #157 of this thread.
Cheers,
Judwin

I said I'd update here when my other two isa's arrived.
One took 6 days, the other took 13 days. Again, letter received shortly after confirming interest payable for the 'transit' period - days correct, rate correct and amount correct. So, very impressed.

Just for other people's info. I've posted here asking about 'missing' interest.
Three isa's being transferred to Lloyds - only one arrived so far.
Left National Counties BS 21/02/08 - arrived/credited Lloyds 05/03/08
Letter rec'd from Lloyds 06/03/08 dated 05/03/08
''We have increased the accruing interest on your isa by £x.xx. This sum represents 12 days of interest for the period from the transfer date of your previous isa provider to today. This will be reflected on your account as part of your next interest payment''.
This letter was unprompted. I was going to wait till all three turned up before tackling this 'missing interest' issue. If the next two, when they arrive, result in similar letters, I'll be well impressed with Lloyds. I'll update here whatever happens.0 -
Im just quoting what i was told in the branch, obviously some people have been told differently, the staff have no clues. I hope you are right, have e-mailed to confirm. the person i spoke to in branch was "Sharon" in Epsom branch, could it be that i was offered £100 compensation for the ***up, and they want to cut their losses?0

Take the £100 and move to somewhere else.....that is what I am thinking to do. BUT, they haven't offerred me anything. My fund is gone missing for the last 2 months and still missing somewhere.0 -
