Lloyds are a joke. Having not heard anything for a month I rang my exising provider this week & they confirmed they hadn't received anything.

So yesterday morning I rang Lloyds & after an eternity of crap automated call systems (call system says "are you an existing account holder, please answer YES or NO", I say NO loudly & clearly, call system replies "please enter your account number".......). Finally got through to someone & after lengthy explanations they say they'll fax (what a joke, who uses fax now?) the branch & someone will definitely call me back the same day.

    Unsurprisingly no-one bothers.

Today I go into the branch & explain it all. Wait 15 minutes (no exaggeration) whilst the girl taps into the computer looking confused. Then she rings someone but tells me "THEY are not answering". Then she goes & talks to someone else in the branch & comes back & tells me that "the rules" say the transfer can't take place for 30 days. I point out that this is nonsense & what she's probably referring to is either the time the RECEIVING BS has to send the money, or the cooling off period, but neither one would explain why Lloyds still haven't done a single thing with my application that they've had for a month. So then she rings someone else & finally tells me that she's got to email "the transfer people" & someone will have to ring me back. Was in the branch for over an hour to get precisely nowhere.

Still haven't heard anything of course. Have now wasted hours in the branch applying for this & hours more on the phone & back in the branch trying to get the useless cretins to actually process the application.

Am absolutely HATING Lloyds. What a joke of a company. You'd think they'd be keen to get £30K but apparently not. IMO there is no doubt whatsoever that the whole point of this account was to lure people into their branches so they can hard sell their crap investment products. They clearly have no interest in the FRISA business whatsoever.

    Hmmm....It seems like this.

My £24K left my old ISA BS on 25 Feb (almost a month since my first contact with LTSB). Still no sign of any credit yet on LTSB account. I will give them two more working days, then my complaint will be on the way. The worst experience ever I came across.
  • That was fast. Applied at branch on 1st March (Sat), got letter from Kent Reliance dated 5th March (Wed) transferring amount to Lloyds FRISA. Will keep an eye on when it shows up on Llyods.

No news from NS&I yet (also transferring to Llyods).

Is it possible to open the 6.5% ISA using £6000 ISA transfer and £3600 cash next tax year or do I have to transfer £9600?

meinnit - i went into branch and was told that i could not open with the 6000 and then add next years money after april 6th to make up the 9000 as bristolleedsfan suggests, so would be interested how you get on.

the tsb chappy told me to wait until april 6th when i could top up up the 6000 with current provider using my 08/09 3600 allowance. as soon as i had got the 9600 then to transfer that over to the tsb. apparently the offer runs to may(although they can withdraw at any time as it would appear to be al oss leader)

Thanks for that. That's what I feared but maybe what bristolleedsfan said is correct?

  • Noticed that Lloyds are now advertising the FRISA on TV, so expect branches to be inundated.
