That's a big time for change in all children, the change in the first year of Secondary is incredible as they become mini-teens and then teens.
She's so lucky to have such a supportive mum, and I'm sure she'll really appreciate that through her teens, whether she can express that or not (heck I'd say 99% of teenagers don't tell their parents how much they appreciate their parents!).
Aww bless you, thanks, I think today's mini melt down has passed, for now anyway, just typing it all out helps no end.
How are things with you gem?:A

I will be so glad when today is over with....Natasha is still not very well, she's refusing to go to sleep and is lurching from happy to inconsolable over and over again. She's tired out, poor little thing.
Ryan had a major meltdown earlier too, and I now have a little dent in the wall where he threw a plastic box full of toys at it.
Stu's not sure if he can face work tomorrow, poor bloke. Not sure what I can say really to build his confidence back up.
And I've broken my 'no booze February' pledge already.
Can't even have chocolate because I've no points left...:rotfl:"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Maybe I'll take your advice then Toto....
I'm surviving these days, I'm still waiting for blood tests to come back - they could take another two weeks. I'm so tired but unable to eat more than a small meal per day. I've lost 12lb in three weeks so far, will see tomorrow how much has gone this week, so I'm a bit wibbly. I miss uni
I haven't started back this term because I'm ill.
Fairly positive on the money front though. Things are being paid!No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
Toto, you are an amazing Mum and a very lovely person. You will get her through each and every obstacle, because you love her too much not to. I admire you so much - if I can be half as good with Ryan, I will be happy."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

:grouphug: Dodgy hug Snaggles you deserved that drink. Hope Natasha goes to sleep soon and that you ALL feel better tomorrow. XXNothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0

If stu isn't up to work for a few days then I'd tell him to take the time off, the last thing he needs is to feel shakey behind the wheel. Get him running around on the supermarket/school runs, that'll get him back quick enough.
poor Tash, isn't it horrible when they're poorly. I used to give mine a dose of medised, then run a warm bath and get in it with them, cuddle and give them a little massage, soon got them relaxed and asleep.:A

I am so CROSS with people who are suppose to be impartial blatently abusing their authority
I KNOW I'm no angel and should learn to bite my tongue with trolls and stupidites BUT I resent being made to look like a t**t when in fact (I think) I'm actually pretty helpful.
Childish behaviour akin to ranting down the phone, hanging up then refusing to answer just gets on my t***
Sorry ~ rant over

Thanks. I've already been waiting and suffering for four weeks. Apparently it's not a routine test so it takes so much longer

Blimey that sent me off for a bit of a sob

I don't know, just when I think I've got this Mum thing sorted something comes along and stirs up a whole lot of... I don't even know
I suppose this silly little thing reminds me that every milestone has been difficult, and how we have tough times ahead. If I'm honest, I'm not entirely happy with Amber's idea that she is going to grow up into a teenager and worse still an adult. Her body is starting to change and that little baby I could bundle up and protect is turning into a big person who doesn't realise the world is full of danger. She tries to do things which children her age take for granted, she tries to do things I do, but doesn't realise the kettle can burn and cars can knock you over and kill you. So I am forever trying to find a balance between letting her grow up and keeping her safe.
Oh listen to me, who'd have thought we'd have all this fuss over a little pair of earrings.
You'll probably hate me for saying this - but you going to have to let her hurt herself. She may have learning difficulties, but she will learn. And getting hurt from (say) a kettle, is a lot better than from a fire.
The problem with wrapping her in cotton wool, is that the cotton wool is never going to be there 100% of the time.
