Mrs Mix
I made the Lumberjack cake today. Finally got some dates. It's really a lovely and moist cake. Was to tired to do any sewing. Had an awful night's sleep last night. I went out and weeded the garden instead. Not so taxing on the brain.
Hope you all manage to keep warm. It's really humid here.Byeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning all!
Sorry to hear about your pig Tru
I watched the Dispatches programme last night (well 3/4) and it really was shocking. I just think its wrong when people have worked for forty years, worked hard and then they get a measley pension, which with food and gas prizes rising works out as hardly anything. Some of the house they lived in were just such a state. I just thinks its wrong. I just feel sorry for the elderly with no friends or family near by... they're just so lonely. It makes me think about volunteering?? A couple of hours a week to go and help someone, take them to do their shopping etc (I used to do that when my great nan was alive) (I'm now getting off my soapbox!)
I said to DH there probs wont be pensions when we get there (I'm 21).
Thanks for making me feel welcome on this board. I have learnt so much, but like I said in another post - this site is very addictive.
Enough waffling - I have got jobs to do.
Have a good day everyone!! x0 -
Morning
I couldn't believe it when I signed in and saw the daily was on page 2 - thought you had all wet the bed
Lots of Ebay pack and wrap today, and I am going to go and join Slimmers World, I've decided I won't lose weight by myself - no willpower
Pork chops and leek and bacon bake for tea, might as well overdose on cheese before I start my diet :rotfl:
Forgot to say, sorry about your pig Tru
:bdaycake: Churchmouse, have a good dayYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Crikey - not even 7am and page 2 already
 What a lot of chatterboxes :T
Huge Happy Birthday to my mate Churchie - have a good one, hun  I know you'll appreciate the wine more than the cake
Tru - so sorry about your pig.
Early start for me today - need to be at the office for 8:15 to travel with my boss     to a training course at County Hall. I've done the laundry, made the pancake batter (as contrary to Delia's opinion, I think it is better left to stand before using) and tidied the kitchen.
And after lots of talking about it I've started to learn to crochet :j Anyone who comes in has to admire it. I may take it to w*** today and ask everyone there how clever they think I am. DD was very scathing and said it wasn't even big enough to be a scarf for a dolly  Bloomin' cheek
Have a great day, all.

I actually popped back to say - do you remember my Challenge Tru's House thread? Well I decided it wasn't really OS (tho parts of it are) and I didn't want it moved from here (tho I'd understand if it was) so I've decided to blog it instead, linky is in my profile if you want to read it (but you probably don't) There's not much on it yet, I only started today

Well I'm all ready and raring to go but dd11 f**t*ssing about so we are going to skip breakfast club and go in a bit later - means !have time to [STRIKE]waste time on MSE as per usual[/STRIKE] get a head start on all my jobs. Not looking forward to w*rk this week - I am in the video link court and it's not working properly at the moment. when we were trained on it we were told that it was no more omplicated than a VCR wich makes it far too technical for me - hopefully my lovely boss has sorted out the glitches.
