Tesco grocery online codes - discussion thread

I think Tesco will probably just stop issuing new codes rather than try to close down sites... most of my vouchers expire in March and I haven't seen many new ones valid past March. Hope they don't... I might actually have to go out and do battle in supermarkets!! Eek! :shocked:0

Another weekly online customer who only shops with Tesco for the extra points. Have finally had enough of the persistent late/non deliveryies and non-existent customer service. Also delivery charge which I don't pay with the other on-line supermarket deliveries eats up part of any discount.
Reverted to Sainsbury, my supermarket of choice - 1 hour delivery slots and £10 no quibble voucher if even 1 minute late, excellent customer service, and free delivery Tues to Thurs if spending £70 min. Only occasional E-vouchers though but better than nothing.
Did do a one-off Asda shop this week as they sent me a £10 off voucher. Free delivery certain afternoons too at the moment.0 -
I have been using Tesco for about 6 months, purely for the extra points.
Currently spend in excess of £800 per month with Tesco - Groceries, Petrol,Phone & Internet.
This will stop if I don't have the insentive of a holiday with my points.
Hello Asda - you're nearer, you're cheaper, you may just have got my business!!0 -

In other words these sites must get paid to advertise the voucher codes and therefore I don't understand why Tesco would want them to be pulled (if indeed they do?).VCE_in_Fornax wrote:Good point there, gillflyn, I 've just emailed this website to ask them if they're affiliated, and if codes are actually open to everyone, sent by shops themselves or individuals who receive them because of their customer status : it's probably a bit naive to expect an answer, but I'd be interested in seeing what they say, if they reply at all!
Best Wishes

The codes listed on this site are obtained from a number of sources. From forum boards like Moneysavingexpert and many others, via emails that people send in and personal emails from Tescos. The way the affiliate programme with Tescos work is that if you click on a link for a non-grocery item from the Tesco Extra store the affiliate website recieves 2.5% - 3% of total purchase. The grocery links are slightly different. The affiliate website receives £5 for each new user.
Tesco requested that grocery codes were taken off this and many other code sites around Summer 2005. But there has been no request in recent months. Companies do pull their codes from time to time and stop issuing them for certain periods of time. This is often due to a management decision. However, when they realise that this can affect their sales drastically they are quickly reinstated e.g. Asda. It is a simple fact that vouchers are a great boost to online sales.0 -
adjoce wrote:The voucher that gives you the best discount will be selected for you, be aware though that a voucher for extra points only has a cash value of £0.01, so if you have banked a code for £5off, this will be selected before a 1000 points voucher even though the points one gives you the better deal. I always bank the extra points codes on one clubcard account and the money off ones on another as sometimes codes are cancelled before expire date but if there banked you can still use them.
Hope that makes sense and helps you.

Hello there
Could anyone possibly advise me if the 1000 extra points with the 12 pack wine order xx ypyp is working.
I was going to place an order but am only doing so to get the extra points - so no point if its not gonna work.
Also do you think the 1000 points code will work along with the 20% off wine offerr on at the moment and free delivery.
From what I can make out it says in small print no xx ecoupons accepted.
Many thanks.0 -
on the subject of " will i shop at tesco if there is no voucher codes" I can now honestly say NO, it will be back to asda.
The quality of asda food ( own brands ) is far superior to tesco's.
Just used the tesco dried spagetti, and even the kids are grumbling about it being different and not good. Have previously grumbled myself about their fruit / veg, so at the moment the only thing keeping me spending my £120 a week is the vouchers.0 -

Me too cheepskate, I would probably use Sainsburys as we don't yet have an Asda where I live; the food quality is much better, all their vans are new and never break down like Tesco's and you can get free delivery slots. The vouchers make such a difference to my weekly shop that it just wouldn't be worth my while staying with Tescos and putting up with all the annoying things about them without the vouchers.
Apparently Tesco now have 30.6% of the UK supermarket sales (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/4695890.stm) so I can't see that they need to worry about a few internet shopping vouchers. Perhaps their vouchers have even contributed to their lead in the UK market, who knows0 -

Yep, I'm off too without the extra incentive. Will either use a free delivery supermarket or Lidl or Asda. As Martin says the clubcard points make you feel as though you are getting a lot back, but don't compare with the savings you can make from canny shopping from a wider range of stores. Notice ther's a lot of bogoffs this week, wonder how long that will last?0
