Tesco grocery online codes - discussion thread

A couple of codes have been posted today but neither have worked for me.
First one just said it was invalid, second one returned an internal error telling me to go back and try again. When I did, it then said 'sorry, this code has been used the maximum number of times' and to contact customer services if I still required assistance.
This is only the second time I've tried a tesco online shop so very new to this. Does this usually happen or do you think it's been changed so only the person they're sent to can use them?
Be gentle if I'm being thick...

I have just used XX-F79K fine, although i did get the error when I first tried logging in, so maybe Tesco are just having a few problems this morning.0

I've just used code XX-F79K .
At first when I clicked on confirm order I got the Internal error message so I went back to the home page selected basket and then tried checkout again and it went through fine.

keep trying , sometimes when you enter a code it will say not valid or used maximum number of times, there are always loads of codes around so enter them until it accepts one. i have never failed to have at least £10 off my shop
so keep trying and good luck.0 -

Welcome to MSE!
I asked this question earlier and the kind people on this forum have said it's because they are mailing out the Feb statements, hopefully this is the case!:eek:Mortgage-free wannabe!0 -
Just received my delivery of 12 x bottles of Tesco Perry which I ordered through Tesco.com and used 1000 points voucher (which said had been accepted online). Upon checking the receipt that the driver gave me i found the following message " We're sorry but you couldn't use the following coupons/vouchers: 1000 extra clubcard points. We'll email you tomorrow to let you know when you can use them with your next online shop".
I immediately phoned CS, who asked me for the code that was used (luckily I had written it down!) They said that they would look into it and ring me back in 10 mins, which they did. Apparently, Tesco Perry is non-alcoholic, so does not qualify!!!! I pointed out that on the back of the bottle it said that it contained 0.7 units of alcohol per 125ml glass, and I doubted very much that my 11 year old son would be allowed to buy it! The man on the phone went very quiet, and then said "we'll, your order only came to £9.58 and the offer was for 1000 extra points which is worth more than that". I pointed out that that wasn't my problem, there was no minimum spend mentioned on the voucher, and if I didn't get my points he could phone the delivery driver and tell him to collect the perry that he had delivered and, incidently, if he looked on his computer he would see that I had some groceries booked for delivery on Wednesday (£15 off £75 spend voucher used) and he could cancel that as well and i would do my shopping in Asda instead. He said that he would have a word with his supervisor and call me back. 5 minutes later he did, saying that they were going to credit me the 1000 points as the order had been placed through Tesco wine.com and the voucher made no mention of the fact that there was a minimum spend, or what actually constituted wine, and the voucher had been accepted online! Result! Will watch my balance now to make sure that I get my points!MFW 2011 challenge - Aim: Overpay £414.26 a month/£5,000 a year. I am still waiting for 2500 points from my October wine order and 1000 points from my January wine order to be added. I noticed this morning that the Clubcard points on the Tesco site have now gone down so presumably they are in the pipeline to be sent. However, I did not check my points total for several days, so am unsure as to whether the 3500 points have been added to my total.
Despite at least ten e-mails I am still getting the response that they are looking into this and will get back to me. It has been several weeks now since I complained and to be honest I just don't think this is good enough. I printed off my orders, and the points codes had been added - not refused - and I just do not feel that this situation is good enough. If the points had been refused at the ordering stage then fine, we would know where we stand, but they were accepted. So, they should honour their side of things and add the points.0 -
