Just ordered for the first time with tesco online- have used the voucher code for £15 off, thank you for that. Can i use one of the added points vouchers too? How do these work?
    Thank you in advance :)

  • The code XX-THTH that was listed last week - Did anyone get the 1000 points credited for 6 bottles of Cava?

Someone posted that it worked with 6 Cava, I tried it and the site did accept it but it's arrived this morning with a footnote on the invoice saying they couldn't use the code as it was invalid, and they'll email me tomorrow to tell me how I can use them with my next shop. Since the site accepted it at the time I ordered, is it worth arguing?

If you got the code directly sent by Tesco, then as long as you have not breached any of the terms, then argue.
However, if you got the code from this forum then be careful. If you argue too much then all you will do is draw attention to the fact that you are getting codes not intended for you, and who knows what concequences this may have?
If I were you I would just accept that on this occasion you have not been lucky, and make sure that in future you only order things that you actually want and not simply to get extra points.
Personally, I would avoid all wine codes unless sent direct to me as they are notorious for causing problems.

To use the wine codes you must order from the wine store in Tesco extra (tesco.com/wine), not from the groceries section.
However, you can of course order your wine from the grocery section and use the value to increase your spend level and hence use better points code.
e.g. if you normally spend £50 on groceries and use a 500 point code, your wine may push you above £75 and allow you to use a 1000 points code - just depends what codes are available at the time of order.
The advantage of ordering via groceries section is that the points are added immediately.
You can only use 1 code beginning XX with any order. If you enter more than 1 code, Tesco will choose the one with the highest monetary (not points)value.

They will never email you. It's a lie.

Phone up Customer Servioces and say (in as nice a way as possible) that you tried the code, it worked but now "Compter says No". Say, Oh Dear, never mind, please could you come and collect it as although I would quite like it, it wasn't worth it without the points.

I have now had to do this 4 times in the last month or so & although it's actually quite mentally tiring being so nice, it has 100% worked - i.e. they say (can't be completely sure) that they will put the points on manually rather than send a truck to collect.

This was just 4 instances where I used a 1000 points coupon which was never credited on the receipt which came with the wine. The system allowed you to order say, 12 X 25cl bottles and it accepted the code. The code was also confirmed on an email but if you don't call CS you will never get the points. & Yes, the van came with 12 mini bottles........

If you order wine with groceries it can easily get an order up to £75 (for a sure thing 1000 extra points) but these 4 instances meant you only had to spend just over £20 for some wine (on the Extra site) to get the 1000 points.

I rang them last night regarding the 1000 points and they were nice and added them on for me...It's better to ring or you get fobbed off with an email and takes longer to sort out...
