I assume at £4.99 KwikSave will have about 20 copies per shop? Not holding my breath on this one - I'm going to Tesco for mine tonight.

After spending more than the £3 difference between phone calls and car journeys in the seach of the illusive £4.99 Harry Potter, I think i have come to the conclusion that im going to just go to my local asda, kirkton and pick up my reserved copy no matter the price.

We have no kwik saves in Dundee but after enquiring about the offer the lady today said to me that kwik save have limited stock and it works out at 50 copies per store as said in a previous quote and to get it at that price from asda, cetainly mine at 11.30am this morning they said that the book had to be in stock at the time of the price match so unlikely that you would get it just after 12pm at the present moment but asda were still undecided as to what they were doing at the time. You may be able to get it at the price match at 8am as thats when kwik save are opening.

I managed to get both copies of the sun and daily record looking for the illusive ads but alas they are not in mine unless im looking at the wrong page. Page 24 in the Sun is an ad for WH Smith selling it for £9.99 if preordered by 5.30pm today and you are getting £75 voucher booklet. Only reason i can think of that the ads are not in my paper is that all scotlands kwik saves turned into sommerfield late last year. Bummer or what as we used to have loads of them.

Ah well - the things you do for your kids that they have no idea about!

Tesco in-store are doing it for £7.99 big ad in todays copy of the sun. I'm gonna take that advert in and see if asda will price match as asda is neaer to me than tesco.

I have just been into our local ASDA (Birchwood, Warrington) with a print-out from the Kwiksave website showing the £4.99 price and asked them if they would match it.

I was told that as long as I got in store at 8 am, with one child per payment, they would honour the price as long as Kwiksave still had them in store. They won't do anything before 8 am as Kwiksave don't open until then and she told me that Kwiksave probably won't have many copies. They are going to be in touch with them to see when they have sold out and then they will no longer price-match.

I believe that between 8 and 10 am then it is for children and after 10 am it is available to anyone.
