Me and the family have just returned from Spain using Ryanair. No hickups of any kind and I think we got excellent value for money. I used to use jet2 a lot, but now find Ryanair are cheaper (all the time).
Hi
I have just booked a ryaair flight for me hubby and 2 children (8 & 6) now from your experience is it worth me paying extra to board the plane first or does everyone just make a run for it anyway.[EMAIL="abuse@moneysavingexpert.com?subject=Reporting post http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=12327447"]

At the gate there will be two queues.
One for priority boarding and the other for everyone else.
Once the priority have gone through, the rest follow.
I would say it`s not worth buying priority boarding for four of you.
(It would cost you £32 return.)
Get hubby at the front of the other queue and let him rush ahead onto the plane to save the seats for you and the kids.
Make sure you`re down at the gate early to be at the front of the queue.0 -

 I recently bought 4 tickets and paid by debit card, to find out they have charged me 4 off charges for one transaction. How can Ryanair get away with this over the top charging when the banks are being slated for their overcharging.

They can get away with it because you paid it.
It`s pretty obvious they can`t sell flights at 1p and make a profit,so they have to claw the money eslewhere.
Like card charges,check-in fees,baggage,onboard drinks and food,etc.0 -
I use Ryanair usually because it flies from our nearest airport. Last time we booked a flight with them in January we were charged only £2.80 debit card fee for the BOOKING. Now its £4 per person per flight total £16. A 571%increase!!! This is ridiculous. We booked flights last night for September for myself hubby and baby and we can't get online check in even though we have only hand luggage. We've booked before with baby and one of us had online check in but apparently they don't allow this anymore. Even though the only reason for this is baby. We can get a refund of the airport check in fee for the person carrying the baby but not the other?! Why? Got no joy from their customer services. We don't have a choice of airline for this destination. Surely they can't get away with this? Suppose Ryanair is only for people with no kids, handlugge only and Visa Electron.0

Ryanair price error 'to be fixed'Budget airline Ryanair has said it will fix a fault on its website that means it is breaking rules on price clarity.
At the moment, its website is breaking rules set by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) by showing prices which do not include taxes and charges.Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries0 -
I have just booked ryanair flights for DH, DD and SIL to attend an engagement party for our DD (I cannot attend as abroad with my mother pre-booked some time ago). They have decided to on-line check in and not take any booked in luggage. However, we still had to pay £24 fee because it was booked on my debit card. OK flights were under £70 return for the three of them but I do feel they should only make one charge per booking rather than charge per passenger each way rather than charging this extra £24!

True but its how it goes about it that grips a persons ...
I thought I read somewhere that a merchant is only allowed to charge a fee in proportion to the transaction charge it would incur, unfortunately this may be old info as I can't find a reference anywhere. Having just paid 40% of the ticket price to pay by CC (free ticket £10 taxes or something £4 cc charge = 40%) I wish I could find the reference. I don't begrudge Ryan Air making £3.5 or more out of the the the whole transaction just the fact it lumps it into the cc "handling fee" I just wished it wasn't so snide in how it earns the revenue it needs to be profitable on the tickets it sells. JUST SAY THE TICKET IS £3.50 NOT Free!!! then the £0.50 charged on the true ticket cost of £13.50 would still seem like a cheap ticket and not a rip off on charges for paying for the ticket.
Everyone would stop complaining about high CC charges and everyone would be happy!0 -
I have just booked return flights for 2 adults and 2 children to France in the New Year with Ryanair. Total cost of tickets was £0! Actual cost of flights: £260.
What I find curious about Ryanair is their apparently wilful desire to alienate customers as a matter of policy. If the tickets I bought had been priced at £32.50 each (260/8) then I would have thought what a great airline Ryanair is. As it is I feel rather ripped off with all the stupid charges for using a credit card, checking in etc etc.
I don't understand what Ryanair gains from creating this negative feeling amongst so many of its customers. Increasingly I feel that it somehow reflects the semi-psychopathic personality of Michael O'Leary, who, whenever interviewed, oozes a '!!!!-you' attitude towards his customers.0
