I have recently got one and posted about the same thing. It seems to work ok - certainly with the whisk and K beater but the dough hook falls out when you lift the arm part way through IYKWIM.
I plan to get it serviced sometime soon so will get advice then It seems a bit different to the one my mum used to use which was prob. a 901
I am glad it's not just me - I felt really silly0 -

Unfortunately the manual is not on either of those sites. But thanks anyway. OH came home and worked out immediately how to connect the beater and whisk. We got it working but the speed is rather intermitant just as the freecycler warned. However as OH is an engineer he has already been trying to diagnose the problem and look for spare parts, if needed. We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0 -

I have auctioned one on Ebay, A901. It worked ok for the first few minutes, but when I tried to turn up the speed, white smoke came out from the back.
I switched off at once. After letting it cool down, I switched on again to see if it still works. It did, but I was too scared to use it.
Seller very nicely offered to refund 4/5 of the sale price, but I don't want to take his refund if I can fix it easily.
Read on previous posts that it might be something to do with a burnt capacitor which should be easy enough to replace (?)
Any advice? Thanks!0 -
I've ventured onto Ebay and gotten an A701 too
The download link for the instruction manual doesn't work anymore though, at least, I can't get it to work
Can anyone help us find an instruction manual please?
Edited to say help is at hand, see post 106 on THIS ThreadMy first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

I am putting my beautiful old cream and red Kenwood Chef A700 on Ebay. I am moving to the US and will not be able to use it there. I have the original book which has recipes, but I would love to sell this with an instruction manual or at least a web link to one. I tried Malamala's link for the A701, but changing it to A700, but that did not work. Can anyone help me please?0

Hi
I used this today for a fridge manual. Thought others might find it useful.

Hi purpleivy...
Yes that's a really usefulsite which I have had to use a few time.
There is a thread already on Old Style manuals
OS Appliance Manual sharing thread so maybe one of the BGs will merge your thread to keep it all together.0 -
