Good question. And if somebody does have the instruction either for 701 or 901 could you tell me please what is the max. capacities, i.e. max. flour weight for soft and stiff yeast doughs to use?

The maximum capacity on my chef for making bread is 650g of flour. I had a link to a copy of the 701a instructions and a recipe book but it no longer seems to be working. I can however send you the document as an attachment if you PM me with your email address.

I should add that my machine does struggle a bit at 650g of wholemeal flour. It is happier at 600g

I'm looking for a kenwood chef for someone I can't find one the same as mine.

Which do you recommend between these two models. K701 or K901? They have both on ebay.

Will the 701 manual be similar to the 901? If you think so please could you send me a copy too? Thanks:A

I'll try and work out how to pm you :o
  • Hi Rita. I'm not sure how much is similar bteween the 701s and the 901s (I know the attachments are different) but I have just sent it to you. Capacities could well be the same and there are recipes which are of use whatever model you have.
  • sorry - the file is too big for me to email even if i zip it up. I will see if I can upload it to my ISP web space, but I probably won't be able to do it until tomorrow.

Unless anyone has any other ideas - it's a PDF

  • Sorry, Rikki. I do not really know. I only have experience of the 701s. I've heard it said that the 701s can be more robust, but on the other hand you will have more choice of parts with a 901 because the new parts fit them. If you go to the indexed collection on the third sticky there is lots of Kenwood info:

  • If you look here:

    http://www.kenwoodworld.com/uk/product_detail.php?cat=270&id=346

on the right hand side there is a list that says 'in detail'. The sixth thing down is KM310 Instructions Eng. It's a pdf file and the instructions are very similar to the A901, and probably pretty useful for someone who has an A701 as well.

    HTH!

Can anyone tell me if the kenwood colander/sieve attachment is any good please. I want to sieve soup in it when I bulk cook.

    Thanks

I have one and think it's great - it does all sorts - soup, jam, etc. The two sieves have different sides for if you want to puree or just strain. Less messy than a mouli I think. Love it!
