I'm not Lyn but i've found that the plastic bowl from the 901 and the glass bowl from the 701 are interchangeable, but the glass one wont fit on my new model KM001
  • I agree with Leonie - and though the stainless steel and pyrex looking bowls look the nicest, I find I always use the kenlyte one! So much easier to wash up, and no fear of breaking or chipping.

Welcome to the forum Sportynat :-)

I took my Kenwood to bits to clean inside but was a bit scared about undoing all those screws and bolts, are you able to tell us if its safe to dismantle it, or even if its necessary? I'd love to know what to do to make it run even better? May as well ask the expert:j

I keep my kenwood out, ready for action (have tiny kitchen though!) that way I use it and it doesn't gather dust in back of cupboard. I am thinking of getting a cover for it - don't suppose anyone has a pattern or link to one by any chance? Would be prefer to be Oldstylee and save the money by making myself! :money:

    BigMuffins, I've PM'd you.

Unless you are going to spend over £500 getting a PM900, I would really recommend getting an older A701 or A901. They were built to last and have mostly strong metal parts, plus are much cheaper than buying the newer models. My kenwood repair man rates these older models very highly, they come in far less frequently for repairs than the newer ones.

If you are going to be doing large batch cooking or loads of bread, then you should consider the Major version of these models - the A707, A907 or A917.

    hth!

  • Hi again! Does anyone know if the sausage attachments for sale on Ebay will fit the 701 mincers. They say for for A950s only, but they seem to look the same as ones I have seen for 701s (701 ones are pretty expensive).

Also, what is involved in converting a 901 liquidiser to a 701 one. I understand they can be converted. Again, just seeing if I can save a few quid because the 901 ones seem cheaper.

    Hi everybody,
Your thread has really inspired me to buy an old Kenwood A701 ;).
Does anyone know if the stainless steel bowl from A901 will fit A701 machine?
