Thanks all, I have just rung the dealer up at Grimsby where I got it from, and he has very helpfully talked me through what I needed at the moment. Thank you for your quick responses. He can get me a manual, but I'm a bit reluctant to spend £11 on one, as I know it is in the house somewhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This will be a good one to add to our Sharing Manuals thread, so I'll add it on to the end.

Thank you for your kind offer Alimbee, I am going to have another good root round, and see if I can find the thing. I managed to work out most of what I needed. The only 2 things I am not sure of are the buttonhole foot, (but didn't need to play with that yet) and if this machine needs oiling, when cleaning it. I used to have a memory craft machine, but that didn't need it. I see there is a small bottle of oil in the spares kit.
I love this site, especially this Money Saving Old Style - people are so friendly and eager to help.

    Hi all,

Does anyone know where to get a manual for a Swan breadmaker? I can't even find a website for Swan appliances and none of the manual sites listed have it either. Any information would be greatly received.

I know its doubtful that my brother will use the breadmaker for anything other than bread mixes but it would be nice to be able to give him even a photocopied manual with the breadmaker for Christmas :(

    Thanks in advance :)

Today i have been really fortunate enough to get a Kenwood Chef from freecycle.
Its an old in white and navy with the ceramic bowl, whisk, K beater, liquidiser and juicer. From looking on the Kenwood Chef Complete Collection thread I think I have identified it as a 701 model.
The whisk and beater have a small screw thread and below that a piece of metal that crosses the metal, then quite a long piece of metal. When trying to attach them to the chef, the long piece metal goes in as far as the cross piece but no further. there seems no way of actually engaging it. Am I doing something wrong?
Has anyone an instruction manual? All the online links don't work
Lots of questions I know but I'm so excited
We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.
