I really think that it is the weather which is making us all feel a bit down at the mo. We had those lovely sunny days, thought Spring was here and then we get clobbered by snow!
I bet that your house will look lovely when you have your pics up and the conifers potted. You are good, we moved 3 years ago and there are still unpacked boxes in the attic!"Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." William Morris0 -
Hi Poppyoscar,
I've got a list of things to do today to, I've been putting it off for ages but I started tackling it today and feel loads better for it....still got the mountain of ironing to do though! I'm sure you'll feel a lot better too once you've done it....make sure you give yourself a nice treat at the end, relaxing bath or a nice glass of wine & a good book/film.
Ali007, I know exactly what you mean. I just want this paid and paid now. I've got to sort out some stuff to ebay but even that seems a bit 'depressed' at the mo....or perhaps it's just the stuff I'm planning to sell.
Anyway good luck to you both with your quests.
Best wishes

thanks for your encouragement everyone!!!

HI, don't be too despondent remember it's a long goal and you're bound to have down days but every month and every overpayment brings you towards mortgage freedom.
Also you've had a lot going on since moving from France so you probably need a breather anyway.
Take care Ev x0 -
have now achieved two things on my list - the planting and the recycling, but have spent the rest of the afternoon looking for the cat - and still haven't found him!
he came outside with me to plant (a little reluctantly) and then shot off like a rocket over the fence and i haven't seen him since. It's the first time he's been gone this long since I brought him here and he's used to a huge garden with fields beyond, not a square inch of grass surrounded by a high fence and other gardens backing on all the way round on a housing estate.
there are still builders on site too and half built houses that i can't get to to check out.
and he is a cat of very little brain........and a wimp with it.
I sooooo hope i haven't lost him - i was in two minds whether to bring him from france, but he was always 'my' cat so i did. may have been a mistake...
I'm so worried about him.
Back out for another look.

hello all
happy weekend.
at last i have had an answer from the halifax about the £10 admin charge...it would seem it's because they changed the term of the mortgage. would have been nice of them to tell me so i could have made an informed choice.
anyway, i have suggested they reimburse me as a goodwill gesture.
i think my next overpayment will be around £175 (tbc when i get my payslip) which will bring my total to £936 but i did that in my head so it may be wrong! lol
bye for now,

the new desk arrived yesterday - from 'dwell', and delivered when they said.
spent pretty much the rest of yesterday putting it together, (and taking it apart, and putting it together again ad infinitum) and still haven't done the drawers. the instructions left something to be desired - the written word would have been good instead of ambiguous pictures! not too many bits left over!!!
anyway - it's looking great so far and the house is beginning to feel like home!:D
sadly the shelves aren't coming for another 6 weeks or so - not sure i could have survived two flat-pack assemblies in one weekend anyway, so perhaps it's a good thing!
