    Mortgage-free Glee!
    hi all

have been into the halifax today to find out about that £10 charge - and guess what? the lady i spoke to didn't know what it was for or whether i should have been charged for overpaying. she put a note on my file asking for someone to contact me and explain.

went to france to get the cat last weekend - it's lovely to have him home. :D he has his own little blue passport - not that he intends to travel again i don't think! 17 hours in the car was too much for him and the ferry crossing was sunday night which was quite bumpy to say the least!

anyway - have a nice weekend all,

i love the pig too - he was a Christmas present a couple of years ago from a very special friend!

feeling a bit frustrated with everything at the moment because of the mysterious admin fee. i have some more money to overpay but i daren't until i know it isn't going to cost me £10. saving it somewhere else just isn't THE SAME!!!

anyway - have shopped already this week and planning a no-spend week - as long as my petrol lasts......not too far to go for work this week.

    Hi everyone

Not too much to report this week.....more like confession time!!!

    I spent money this week.

Ok - it was money that was put by for a purpose, but I could have thrown it at the mortgage.

I bought furniture for my house......when i came back from France in august post divorce, i brought very little with me, just the basic requirements. Ex-OH paid me (a small amount) for the furniture that I left that was mine, but tbh it would have cost me a lot to bring it back, and it was pretty old and more for an old house anyway.

This week I purchased a sofa, a chair, a desk and some shelves. I'm just soooo sick of empty rooms and I figured I might as well get them now and enjoy them as wait. Anyway, total spend £1700.

On the plus side, I didn't spend the £5.00 I had in purse for incidental spends, and found a tenner I didn't know I'd got in an old handbag!:D

Still doesn't balance really though does it?

Also finally had electricity and gas bills from Scottish Power, although estimated. I have read the metres and sent that in so they can reconsider! They were over on electricity and under on gas. Then I'll see if switching is a good option for me.

As soon as I have had a water bill I'll post an SOA for ideas of cut backs, although I think I already do most things.

I hope you're all doing well! (better than me anyway!!)

Happy Easter and have a good week!

    Hi all,

Feeling a bit despondent today - don't know why really.:(

It's really strange moving back to a place where you were brought up, but 28 years down the road. I basically don't know anyone except family (spent yesterday with them) and my work colleagues. So today it's just me and Leo (my cat) at home. I'm in a long-distance relationship which is proving very difficult at the moment because time online together is getting less and less due to other things which have to be done (although we get 10 days together next month - I can't WAIT).

Otherwise I daren't go out in case I spend money to cheer myself up - I have already spent too much this month! The down side of taking a nice and relatively stress-free job, instead of a well-paid stressful one!

So today I am trying to motivate myself to -
    • finish emptying boxes from my move 3 months ago
    • do a mountain of ironing
    • pot some nice conifers to go outside my front door
    • put up some pictures
    • sort out my recycling and take it to the supermarket before it gets any more out of control
Of course as it's a bank holiday, the weather is doing its worst too! Doesn't help!!

Anyway, am off now to be positive. Sorry about the moan!:D

Never mind hon, spring will soon be here. Get unpacking those boxes and see what you can flog on ebay!!

Edited to say actually I'm feeling a bit fed up too :o . DK why, think I just want mortgage paid off NOW so trying to see what else I can come up with.....

Also, have set myself a challenge of raising 2k by end of Feb 09 to pay for Xmas, Feb trip to NY, spends and lots of new clothes in winter when I have lost 3 stone..... :o . Have set up a DD of just under 100 a month and also target of raising rest via ebay, amazon & cash from comps + selling prizes, pigsback vouchers. Projected at the mo to have raised 58.47% (although around £140 coming) - I think I just want it raised NOW........ never mind this delayed gratification malarkey  ..... so I can get back on with paying mortgage.......

Moan over, have your thread back now ;)
