a week off this week. will try not to spend money, and do all that stuff i haven't got round to since moving in. will also do design for the garden as i'm aiming to do something with it before the long hols in the summer. not a great garden - small (about 10m x 5m - the size of our pool in france, lol!), north facing, clay and on a slope. will ned to think creatively and research plants that are happy to stand with their feet in water in winter, and be baked dry in summer.

have a good bank holiday in the rain!

oh well - saves petrol as am not tempted to head for a beach!

    overpayment dilemma for june......
    • back pay wasn't what i was expecting - can't work out what it is until i see my payslip on monday
    • mr brown's 10p tax thing seems to have hit (no kids and still under 65)
    • car insurance has gone up £150 because of a change of postcode and a teensy-weensy claim resulting from a reversing incident (ok, so i'm rubbish at reversing) (have not shopped around yet, but will)
    • £111 travel expenses - needed towards car insurance
    • didn't get job, although other interview in 10 days (money still carp though, for that one)
car insurance dilemma - have a speeding point (only one - was in france on french license); it was on my french license, but disappeared when i changed back to a uk license. do i need to tell them?

badly want to overpay - would it be a real cop-out to just pay, say, £30 this month to round it up?

Having been told in my branch of the Halifax that i can't access my mortgage account online, I just have!

Anyway - the good news is, I have come down from £15,000 to £13,557.52 in 5 months!

    I'm very happy with that!

    PO xx

Edit - having accessed it I find I have more than i thought in the little savings account that gets the share divi paid in - I will be over paying by £115 in June. I'm sooo glad - i didn't want to lose the momentum - miss one overpayment and you might as well miss another - so no excuses now!!
