I made this for my DH from our little boy for his birthday the other year.

Help...quick!
Tomorrow it is my friend's 40th birthday. A group of us have had a collection and bought her a nice present and a big card for us all to sign. I won't see a couple of the contributors before tomorrow so they have asked me to sign the card on their behalf. I can't even think of what to write from me, let alone 2 other people. Any suggestions??Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in.0 -

It's my husband's 40th in May and I'm currently considering throwing a surprise party for him although I'm finding that thought a bit daunting at the moment.
I have however started to buy bits and pieces (as below) to create a nostalgia hamper (stuff from his childhood). If you have any more ideas/thoughts then please let me know but hopefully this will may help inspire some of you that might be struggling.
- Space Hopper (thanks to this site advertising them in Superdrug at £5)
- Commando comics off Ebay (after a bit of digging found out he read these as a boy)
- Bird spotting books from 1967/8 off Ebay (he used to be a closet twitcher)
- Mr Benn DVD (his favourite childrens program)
- Old sweets (old as in favourites when we were young e.g. tooty fruities, jelly tots, dib dab, wham bar, black jacks, rainbow crystal, space dust, alphabet letters, finger of fudge ...... you get the picture.
- 1970 Dandy annual (thanks to a friend of mine at work who must be bored of me going on about this hamper by now!)
I've also been thinking of stamps or coins from 1967 but these are just a maybe at the moment.
Like I said any other ideas then please let me know.
Many thanks0 -
They are great ideas Toboguin, I'm going to steal a few of those if you don't mind
Other ideas I've thought of are:
- a 'This is Your Life' book - baby photo's, school reports, embarrasing comments from friends/family
- newspaper from 1967 (local or national)
- CD/record from the day he was born
I'm thinking of doing a mocked up newspaper with news from April 1967 for my OH's birthday. I need to find a suitable website to find news articles - has anyone any ideas where I might find this? I need to learn how to use Quark Express now and I'll be sorted.Cos I don't shine if you don't shine.0 -
My friend has asked me to help her organise something for her hubby’s 40th mid January.
I can see from previous threads that you guys are great at coming up with ideas so thought I’d try you all out.
The bit I’m helping with is a memory book going through the last 4 decades & include photos & stories of things that happened to him through his life (& general news info from the era).
I knew him from Uni (before she did) so have a few stories I can help with but we’re struggling to find bits ‘n bobs from before then. She knows what school he attended but that’s about it. No clue who his chums were. He’s an only child & trying to find out from aunts, uncles, cousins will be way too time consuming.
 What other things can she put in the book to puff it up a bit? All I can think of is a page on his favourite footy team, his favourite “pop”group, favourite TV shows through the years…but we’re running out of ideas. PLEASE HELP!
Thanks in advance…..:beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:0
