You lot are very very naughty - and on a Sunday too :naughty:;) Still, best you get it out of your systems before Lent :D

I've been busy today - church choir in the morning, and a matinee with my mum in the afternoon - then I got invited to a lunch/afternoon birthday party at a bar in central London, so I dropped in there for one (non alcoholic :A ) drink and a burger and chips on the way from church to see my mum... phew!!

Mum has sold her car on ebay! She got £460 for it, which is pretty much what she was expecting/hoping for. She lives on a very narrow street and wanted a smaller car for ease of parking, so she's bought my brother's Corsa off him (bro currently lives in central London and was paying out for residents' parking and insurance on a car he never uses as he now walks everywhere!) and it sounds like she breaks even except for necessary repairs on the locks and radiator on the Corsa.

Congratulations heather38. I saw your news on Facebook before here, and from your reaction I'm guessing it was a bit of a surprise? ;). Hope the family are over the food poisoning soon

Penny-Pincher!! - I suppose all you can do is be there when it all falls to bits. I know so many people who seem to be the ONLY sane/sensible one in their families. You're clearly the one with the practical gene ;) It must be very frustrating to watch somebody close to you making stupid mistake after stupid mistake, especially when you know it's going to be you who ends up having to pick up the pieces.

Hugs to anybody who needs one :grouphug:

    Love Rzl xx

Just a quick one - Twink, your hobnobs are super-fantastic-smashing-great (just made second batch in as many days) but OMG! They've really made the cat f*rt. Cat owners beware, especially if your cats are criminal genii like mine!

Hope everyone else is well (and breathing cleaner air than I am!):undecided
Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.

    Congratulations Heather...stay well.

PenPin...very hard to sit back and wait for the crash....please don't make yourself ill, as others have said, be there when you are needed, especially for the children.

Haribo...glad to hear that you are resting and that you are keeping Pink warm...why did she want to go to Aldi...are there none in NI?? We would let her cross the border...meet her on the way to the new IKEA!

We survived the party and other visitors who could have chosen a better day, but never mind, there was lots of food, enough for several dinners to go in freezer, with some nice fresh baps, which would not have been nice after to-morrow.

Really cold here today, need to sort out the roof insulation on the old (200 years +) part of the house...reckon there is none, but we need the stuff you blow into the roof space as there is no attic to speak off...must enquire tomorrow as this winter seems very hard on fuel...have spent €1430 on oil so far, would hope that will see us through the worst, after that they can all freeze!

Trying to do a meal plan/budget for my friend with little baby as she has gone back to her rented house and budget will be very tight until she goes back to work at end of June.

Very tired now, need to get to bed soon...DW is on for 3rd time to-day, washing more or less up to date so can rest easy.

    Sleep well

Well thats one gone then....DS went to Liverpool tonight to start his new life as a FA Coach tommorrow, we wish him well, a few tears from Mrs B and Miss B but he was ok, then realised he had sent a nice text later saying he loved us and thanks which was an "arrhh" moment in the B Household. You sort of get a nice glow when that happens, just waiting for DD to get her mortgage sorted sometime this year then its nice tidy house and plenty of nice home cooked meals for Sue and I. We should save some money on Computers, electric, gas and Oh the Joy of it all!! Feel better already! LOL
    Take care all.
