Hello everybody,
I havent posted on OS Daily for a very very long time. I hope you dont mind me posting, and I love this board, and would really like to get to know you all. I usually just lurk, but, have decided to join in with the chat.
PP I really feel for you. Im too worried about my sister although, she doesnt have a man in her life (yet). She split up with her hubby just before Christmas, she has loads of debt, and hasnt had her "lightbulb" moment yet, and all she worries about is if she will meet someone else!!!!! (yeah dont bother about your daughter, or if you can get your debt paid or if you can manage your mortgage every month).
Hopefully she will see the light soon, and think about what you have told her.
I havent read through all the posts, but will do later.
Dont plan to do very much today except some batch cooking, and tidying.
I think my dishwasher is broken, there is some water lying at the bottom of it which I have never noticed before, however, it did go through the wash cycle okay, and there are no warning sounds or flashing lights to say there is a problem. Does anyone elses dishwasher do this?
Trying to train DS#2 to use the toilet, however, its not going very well. Have been trying since beginning of December, but, have been using pullups, so, yesterday I decided to try him in pants (incase pull ups were still confusing him with nappies), however, he wet himself 3 times yesterday!!!
Hes going to be 3 in April, so Im really hoping to crack this soon.
Any tips?

Morning all - quite bright here. I've had messed-up sleep and really long working hours, so am taking it easy this weekend.
Moroccan chicken stew has been bubbling in the crockpot since last night - chicken thighs, garlic, onions, mushroom, chickpeas, tin toms, orange juice, mint, garam masala; will adjust the flavours and stir in Greek yoghurt soon. I'll serve it with lemon caraway rice - planning on frying finelay grated lemon peel and caraway seeds, stirring in rice and adding water until cooked.
Will get the breadmachine going later to try the French bread recipe. Other than that, it's normal housework and genealogy for the day, and an early night tonight as I want to get to the gym early tomorrow morning.0 -

I agree with you about the boyfriend. She would be cheaper with a paid "escort" and at least she would know where she stood.
The more you try to warn her the more she will dig her heels in and as someone else said you will need to pick up the pieces when it all crumbles.
Sitting here in pjs with a pot of tea at my side - bliss!
DH has "helpfully" washed the saucepan and grill pan and oven tray - so they are now coated in grease - the non stick pan has been "brilloed!!!!!
He still cannot understand why I keep buying non stick pans when there is a sale on - or why I re wash anything he has done!
He means well so I will keep quiet and just re do everything!
Will need to cook the mushy peas in advance so there is less faffing about later and I just need to heat them for lunch.
Have salmon steak in the freezer and chicken kiev for DDs and will make cauili cheese and potatoes. Don't have room to roast them in my pathetic remains of an oven so either they wil be boiled or he can buy me a new oven!!!!!
Looks like a decent drying day so have washing machine on.

Have you thought of doing assertiveness classes? Honestly not being sarcastic but you seem to keep gettng the sticky end of the lollipop and you deserve better.
Going to have a quick coffee while the kitchen is free!
Has anyone else been reading the thread about the Lidl booklet and "page 15"?
We went shopping there yesterday and picked up a booklet - when I looked at it I nearly burst out laughing. The picture on the brochure is a lot more obvious than it looked online!!!:rotfl:"This site is addictive!"

Hello everyone.
It's horribly Windy here in Milton Keynes. I might venture down the greenhouse ... it's time to sow leeks and tomatoes.
Then its trawling thru the comparison sites for car insurance before snuggling down to catch up on stuff I've recorded.
Back to work tomorrow after a week off....BOOOOOOH!!Best wins: ITV Real Deal CASH,Trip to Lapland.0 -
Good morning everyone,
I had a lie in this morning as I was up most of Friday night with a 3 year old and a sickness bug (his, not mine). He was very brave though, and didn't complain once. This is probably TMI, but the only washing he caused me was the towel that I wiped his face with. I think that's great for someone his size. He has eaten two breakfasts this morning, so I think he's feeling better.
dlb, you must be shattered today, because I know I was yesterday. Take it easy and I hope the others don't catch it.
I made HM quiche last night, which looks and tastes great. DH is amazed and can't quite figure out why it is that if I can make things like that, why we have eaten so many of them out of boxes since we have lived together. I'm not sure myself to be fair, as I used to cook properly when I first left home. I guess I just got out of the habit.
Pen-pin sorry about your sister. I hope she sees the light soon.
Take care all of you0 -

PP - it must be very worrying about your sister. But she's an adult so she has to make her own mistakes and all you can do is to be there for her even if it is hard on you.(((hugs)))

DH has gone to have a drive around the milkround that will be his new job in a weeks time! Hopefully it will be easier for his back than his old job plus its more money and we hope to cut down to just 1 car instead if 2 then.
I hope you all have a lovely Sunday

morning all. we've all been ill this weekend with food poisoning

Morning all.............(((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))) if you need one.
Its a dullish day, no rain but rather grey, we have just been for our daily walk, lunch in the offing, then prep the supper and I can spend the afternoon sewing. Not many people about but plenty of cars.
We have a new tenant moving in this morning, so we are full once more, in our bit of the landing there are 4 ladies and 1 chap (my OH).
I have a couple of lenghts of fabric on ebay no bids yet, it looks like they will be going to the charity shop, shame, they are nice fabric..........but I know I am it going to use it. I no longer sew for myself..........
Sheets off the bed and in the laundry, I put them in the dryer when we got back from our walk, should be dry in a mo, so will go down and collect them, might get them ironed this afternoon whilst I have the iron on for my quilting, have cut out the bits for a play mat, ISpy pattern..............
PP......I have followed your posts about your sister, there is really not much you can do, if you criticize you may make her more determined, all you can do is be there for her when the sky falls in, as it surely will when the money runs out. She does need to be careful re her benefit, someone WILL shop her without a doubt.............Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0
