Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
good morning to you all
have been awake since silly oclock !!!! am off to work soon.

Morning.
It appears to be dark wet and miserable out there. I let the dog out this morning, but it did not stay out very long.
Spent the day in Famlouth yesterday as planned. Did not buy much other than a pasty, Nice Roxy bag for my daughter and a 49p tarp to go over the rabbit hutch.
I was looking for some sailing boots, but could not find the exact ones I wanted. So the birthday money stays intact.
I still have £12 M & S card that I can't use because I don't want anything.
Church this morning followed by a lunch together. I still have loads of party food left over to take, so that will be eaten up and I can have the fridge back.
I still have a box of beer here that needs drinking if anyone is passing. Skinner's Heligan honey ale from Truro...
Well folks have a nice day.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Morning Amie and all to follow.
Amie....Are my eyes playing up or is your writing quite small:D
Havent had a good night and been up since 4am. I think I am worrying about my sister. We saw them all yesterday and she has this new BF of 12 weeks and I dont think he's good for her. She has alot of money in her bank and he is spending it through her very easily. In the past few weeks has bought him suits, clothes, shoes etc, puts petrol in his car, she buys him 8 cans of beer daily (thats a whole other problem), pocket money...loads of things. He has just handed in his notice and is staying there for 5 nights a week and she claims Child Tax Credits as a single person. I said to her yesterday she needs to inform them but he said it should be ok and shes listening to himThen theres the matter of the kids.....one is disabled and the other is having alot of MH problems ATM and shes 7. Sister is just fixated on this guy and the kids are suffering. I was honest with her yesterday and told her I thought it wasall happening too soon, especially only seperating from her husband of 10yrs 2 weeks beforehand. Its the kids I worry about as we know nothing about this guy and something doesnt feel right. Maybe its just me!
Anyway, 2 washloads need doing today and the dinner prepped. Also need to sort out stuff for tomorrow as Im at Kings all days having 2 infusions and tests.
Hope everyone is ok.
Hugs to all
PP

Morning AMIE and all who follow. I hope you manage to get some rest, Amie, you've done a day's work already by the sound of it! Try and find the time to put your feet up.
It was windy here through the night but seems to have settled down now and it doesn't feel quite so cold, either.
I have just found a thread by QUEENIE about homemade convenience mixes and have printed the whole lot off.
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=4701374&postcount=1
It looks like the perfect time-saver because you can make up bags of different mixes, using your own ingredients so you can keep an eye on the content and make them as organic as possible, and keep them in the freezer. I can see my freezer filling up with them this week.
Today is going to be paperwork day - again. I was going to do some baking but will leave that until tomorrow because I still have a lot of paperwork that I want to put to bed today; I hate having it hanging over me. I'll make cakes tomorrow.
We are still on a freezer-and-store-cupboard challenge so dinner today is a roast using two old lamb chops and two ancient sausages plus roast spuds, swede, carrots and cabbage. I have just enough meat left in the freezer for this week, then I shall visit the butcher next week and stock up again - I'm looking forward to that, sad as it may seem!
Anyway, off to have a shower, then get DH up, have breakfast, walk up to the corner shop for a paper (Mail on Sunday has a free Lenny Kravitz CD in it) , then get stuck in to the paperwork.
Hope everyone has a great day. See you all later.

PENPIN - have just read your thread about your sister. What a worry that is; all the signs are there that he is using her and it's such a shame if the children are suffering. I'm sure she'll realise soon and do something about it. It's horrible watching something like that from the 'sidelines', isn't it, especially when it's someone you love?KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

Mr and miss tru are working today, master tru is going to make a new back gate and I have a pile of ironing to get through.
FIL has completely back-tracked on everything he's said, this means I don't know who's telling the truth and who's lying. I've decided not to help any of them, they can all live unhappily ever afterBulletproof0 -

Morning all - went to bed at 9.30 due to exoh having taken over the house temporarily (I hope) but still feel tired and rubbish - i justput orange juice in my coffee - wouldn't mnd but one's in a carton and the other's in a bottle - the Twilight Home beckons methinks. Something's wrong with the computer as well in that every now and then the screen sort of goes up and down a couple of inches - looks a bit like it's curtseying
PP - what a worry for you - I think you might have to leave her to get on with it and save your energy for picking up the peices when it all goes pear-shaped
cheers for that link mioliere - will have a good read later on
N9aev - good luck finding something in M and S - you must truly be the man who has everything .... except sailing boots. could you top the card up to a round figure nd give it as a birthday present if you're really stuck
have a good dayI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
Morning everyone.
N9eav so glad you had a great birthday, hope you find someone to share the beer with!! Im not near enough or i would have help you get rid of the stuff!!
Haribo glad your on the mend and posting again, PenPin hugs to you it must be hard, i remember when i first met dh and ds3 was only a few weeks old, i was head over heels in love and for a few weeks did put the kids on the backburner so to speak, luckly for me my now dh realised what we were doing and we changed things pretty quickly, hopfully your sister will realise now you have said something, in my case it was just the fact that i had got out of a awful controling relationship and suddenly had this wonderful guy in my life that wanted to help and listen to me, something i had never had before, and luckly for me he turned out to be mister right, i hope youe sister works things out.
Well iv been up almost all night with ds1 he has got a sickness bug, and he is the one out of all 4 kids that really is dramatic when hes ill, people down the street must be able to hear him moaning and yelling!!!! I pity anyone that decides they wants to marry him!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So that means he cant play footy this morning , need to phone his manager and let them know soon, ds3 has cup match at 2pm, hoping ds1 may feel a little better so he can get out for some fresh air and hopefully watch his brother get to the quarter finals!!!!
Got washer and dishwasher on, having a cooked chicken with fresh bread and pasta salad for tea later, need to wrap some ebay stuff and list some more, and if ds1 feels up to it finish of some homework projects with him that are due in next week.
Have a great sunday everyone

Good morning everyone,
Been raining a lot here today. I've been tackling my kitchen curtains today which has been maddening. I don't particularly like sewing. I suppose because I make so many mistakes, my time is usually taking up with unpicking. I'll tackle it again tomorrow. DGS & XDIL came to visit this afternoon so been busy playing.

Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning all
PENPIN your post is very worrying but I don't know how much you can do except try and support the kids. I daresay when her money is gone so will he be.
Hugs to anyone who needs one.
It's freezing here, it was really cold at work as well. Just trying to wind down a bit before I go to bed. My knees are killing me, think I really am getting to old for my job.
OH is going to help DS with his homework and take him out later. Will probably get up about 3ish.
Catch you later. Have a good day all.
