Hi, a wet and windy day here today.

I went to my friend's 40th bday party last night and had a great time. I met up with an old schoolfriend who I last saw when she was 20 and we had a wonderful time catching up on the past 20 years. She had her sixteen year old daughter with her, and it was so weird as she looks just like her mum did 20 years ago!
I think we've all aged well and I even got a lovely compliment from a couple of friends who said I had lovely skin and couldn't believe I didn't have any wrinkles. I told them it was all down to Botox! (as if) :rotfl:I told them thanks but I have plenty of other imperfections.;)

I was very good as I only had 4 bottles of beer and was home just after midnight, so quite respectable.

DH has had his lie-in and I've read the paper. We didn't go to church as I originally thoughts I would be a little worse for wear and arranged for someone else to cover the sunday school for me.:o

The plans for today are to strip beds, wash bedding, ironing, make packed lunches, write meal plan/shopping list and make corned beef hash for tea.
DH is taking me upto the place where he's booked his bday party for, so that I can make arrangements for balloons, banners, old photos of him to go up etc. The party is in 2 weeks and we've got over 100 people coming and quite a few sleeping in our house, not sure where they'll all go though!:rotfl:

    Have a great sunday!

    Afternoon all,

Didn't get to post yesterday, the day seemed to fly and DD2 asked me to take her shopping for bits and pieces for DGD's third birthday party which kicks off here in just over an hour...by which time I will have shut down pc and made my escape to the living room...I use the dining room as my pc room, as we rarely have the numbers nowadays to eat anywhere else besides kitchen.

Hoping that the party chicken will stretch to feed OH who will not eat stew...decided not to freeze all of yesterday's as it will make it easier on me.

Getting out of the way now!

    Afternoon All

Been for a long walk, and had my arm twisted(ha ha) to call and have a Sunday Lunch on the way back, which came a bottle of wine between us 12% red so can certainly feel it. Much better than cooking it for myself;) .

Come on Nelski - what is the story of your next holiday. I dare not say that 5 weeks after I get back from this 2 month one, I am off again for 3 weeks.:o
I'll probably get lynched at the meet!

Pen-Pin - worrying is not good for your condition. Just be there to pick up the pieces. Maybe show her the rules for the benefit though.

Elona - Please give us a clue about Lidl Pg 15 too far away to go and get one!

    (((Hugs))) everyone else.

  • Afternoon!

Thanks for all the replies. It has to be her choice at the end of the day and if she looses her money in the process...so be it! I did make my feelings quite clear yesterday and told her to be careful as all actions have consequences. I dont mean to sound horrible and maybe he is a nice guy....but whats the rush:confused: AAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH......I'll get over it. I have suggested a few different investments for her and have done some HW regarding these, but she said she wants to keep her options open, but she has spent about 6k since she met him:eek:     ....he's trying to twist her arm into buying a better/bigger TV and she only bought hers last year. He got her to upgrade the Sky to the full package too.

I forgot to mention that my GP funded a new pushy wheelchair for me last month and that came on Friday, so am going to Freecyle my old one this afternoon as although its old, it will do someone a turn.

2 washloads have been done and dried. DW has been on and emptied and toilet cleaned:D...still got dinner to do, but I think we're having New Pots, Fish and Veg. DD has aksed for Lasagne and have a spare portion in the freezer.

OH did a freezer inventory this week, so I know where I am now. Have enough main meal items for about 3-4 weeks solid...so just need top ups.

Have just done an online order with Boots and paid by Paypal as I had some auctions finish today and used that;) ....managed to get enough sanitary supplies (2 for £2 for DD)...enough supplies for 6-8 months, wet wipes (BOGOF)...enough supplies for 4-5 months all of us, shower gels (baby ones)...enough supplies for 4-5 months all of us, shampoo/conditioner for DD 3 months, Carex hand wash (half price)...6 months+ supplies all of us, facial tissues (Buy 3 get 3 FREE)...enough supplies for 4-5 months....and I managed to get FREE delivery and get £12.55 in points for £41.00:j :j :j :j ...being delivered by Wednesday this week:beer: ...BARGAIN!!

Have about 10 items to parcel up to go Tuesday as we wont be able to get to the PO tomorrow...so am pleased about that.

Anyway, I have someone coming to collect a couple of items I put on Freecycle soon.

    Hugs to all in need.

Thanks for listening to me ramble on:o

  • ......what a miserable day here in Yorkshire!! ........

It's been a beautiful morning in my part of Yorkshire ;) DH and I have had a long morning in the garden - sunny and mild. DH dug over half of one of our veg patches and I moved some flowers that had self-seeded, and some herbs into new positions. I also weeded my new strawberry bed, but need advice on them, so off to Greenfingered board after this. There's also someone there who's been asking my advice about polytunnels, so need to see to that :D;)

We've discovered another cockerel a few streets away, and Darcy and he have been trying to see who can crow loudest  The hens are laying about 3 eggs a day between 4 of them, so we're delighted at that :T :j

PenPin - in the end, you have to leave your sister to her own mistakes. If you're sufficiently worried aboit her children, you may need to involve social services, but if it's not that serious, apart from spend as much time with them as you can, there's really very little you can do.

Haribo - glad you like the dishcloth. As for the dispute between you and Pink, as one of 3 daughters, I can assure you that I'm not about to involve myself in a dispute between sisters. All I'll say is that the eldest sister (for I am she  ) usually comes out on top :p:p

    Heather - congratulations !!

DH has bought some lamb for tea, and he'll be cooking it. I may run to a rice pudding

DS has been replaying yesterday's rugby match on his PS2 - the score this time was 29 -14 to England :T :j :rotfl: :rotfl:

Enjoy the rest of your day, Penny. x

Trying to train DS#2 to use the toilet, however, its not going very well. Have been trying since beginning of December, but, have been using pullups, so, yesterday I decided to try him in pants (incase pull ups were still confusing him with nappies), however, he wet himself 3 times yesterday!!!
Hes going to be 3 in April, so Im really hoping to crack this soon.
    Any tips?

Welcome back, Jackie  Looks to me as if your DS isn't ready to be out of nappies. My DS was nearly 3 before he was, and I was thinking he'd still be in nappies by school time  One day, he decided to put pants on and had no accidents at all - it just needed me to wait until he was ready.

Good luck to you both, Penny. x

    afternoon all,

been out for a long walk which was exhillerating to say the least, the wind and cold took my breath away, its bitter here now, and the sky has gone all white, still hoping for snow don't think its going to happen though.

Got the beef in the oven smells lovely, spuds just done in, DD is back at 6 so will aim for then with dinner,

Pen Pin, do you think your sisters children are in danger at all ? it may be worth you telling them that they can always phone or talk to you, he sounds like a right chancer.

Heather :j congratulations to you xx
  • Afternoon all,

Had a busy few days, out with the kids mostly, birthday parties etc. Feeling a little under the weather as well as overtired at the moment. In between outings and parties trying to catch up.

Got three loads of washing dried yesterday - was a lovely windy sunny day here in Sussex. One load I decided to take a chance on it staying dry and put it out at 10pm last night - it was practically dry by 8.30 am this morning so I stuck it on the radiators to air before we went out for the morning.

Must go and find something for dinner tonight - something simple would be nice, maybe beans on toast with sausages. Must try to drum up some enthusiasm to bake a cake or something for lunch boxes.
Hope you all have a good evening.
