Is B & Q Paint any good?

I suppose that it is very much a matter of what you exect from paint. Simply, I've never found a B & Q paint that I would use again but I am a long time fan of Wickes' paints, especially the trade or budget ones. I hate most of the branded paints because they are thick and gooey and are like brushing on tar. Wickes trade paints have a good consistency and leave a good long lasting finish. The lack of colours in the trade gloss range is easily overcome by mixing your own from the strong colours. Easily done and cheap.0

Homebase paint is good, we were going to use Laura Ashley 'scarlet' but the homebase one was so much cheaper,a really good strong red with great coverage, it was really good quality.
Have to say I think Crown is pretty rubbish, and so does my painter-decorator neighbour. Thanks for letting us know that Crown makes B&Q, I won't bother trying that one then !2016: No Clutter to Be Seen 805/2016

my dad works for the manufacturers.
Not sure where cherry cokester got this info from but crown do not supply the own brand paint to B&Q.
It is a German specialist company.0 -
I would certainly recommend NOT to use B&Q Everywhere paint anywhere.
I used some and it is the absolute worst paint i have ever used. It dried in a disgustingly patchy finish, and a second application didn't improve matters.
Complaints to B&Q resulted only in a derisory offer of a gift voucher of substantially less value than the cost of the paint and a statement that there were no other known problems, yet subsequent checks on webpages show that a large proportion of reviews, (between 20% and 50% depending on which review site you choose), show these complaints to be common.
I have since successfully used Asda and Wilkinson Paints. I shall NOT be using B&Q paint again.0 -

the fact that you've dug up a thread from 2008 , and have used asda and wilko paints speak volumes0 -

i don't think any sane person will be doing their living room in road lining paint of sports field paint ... so i would say seriously don't bother lokking at these companies prices unless you have the odd road or sports field you need painting0
