Kaupthing Edge Savings Rate Frozen For Now

I applied yesterday and got an email saying that my application was 'successful' and that I would 'shortly receive an email with details of your new account number and sort code'.

There's nothing about asking me to send proof of ID... I'll see what happens...

I've just read Sainsburys', A+L and Icesave's disclaimers, and they are all similar to Kaupthing Edge's.

No s**t they're covering themselves! BTW Icesave's disclaimer is not anything like Kaupthing Edge's. I think I'm right in saying that Kaupthing aren't signed up to the banking code yet either... I would rather stick with the tried and tested, ie., icesave, for the sake of a few quid extra interest.

That's something I suppose; however, that disclaimer would still put me off. There's just a bit too much "covering themselves" for my liking...

48 hrs and no further email so I have no account number or sort code.
You phone them up and they tell you that your birthdate is wrong.
As in myfirst post ICICI looks to be keeping all my cash.

Now I am a little concerned. Was quite happy with my application until they called me up asking for more information (confirm linked bank account details etc.) I asked why they need this and they said "because you entered the wrong date of birth on your on-line application". The same thing they told the above poster !!!!. 48 hours later and still no bank account details. Is this a scam?

How long does it take for them to return the bank statement? I have got the welcome email/letter and can login fine so would expect it to be returned any day now?

I applied today and was told I had just been sent an email to confirm my successful application. It took an hour to reach me, so while waiting for the next one with my account details, I'm wondering what 'shortly' means :undecided

The only other odd thing is that they couldn't work out my address from my house no. and postcode. Perhaps they were looking in Iceland
