Well i went and tried to apply but now stuck waiting for my email.
Does anyone have any idea how long this may take as my boss is looking rather concerned at the time i am having for my lunch .0 -
The email just contains the details of the last screen that you see when you apply - the application number and the address to send the bank statement off to. If you have that written down already then you dont really need to wait for the email.0

Well, having read the articles about Icelandic banks, and read the disclimer on their website (http://www.kaupthingedge.co.uk/About/Disclaimer.aspx) I certainly amn't depositing any money there....
The reasons behind why they have to offer these rates are not pretty...0 -
Would be too concerned to deposit based on their online disclaimer!0

Just been through the process of opening the standard savings account on their site. I was asked for my name, address, bank details, employment status, deposit amount (£1000 - £9999) etc, and then a thankyou note saying they need to do one or two further checks, and I will be contacted within 48 hours.
I was neither asked for, or given any further info. Is this the same process everybody else went through? Seems you all are posting bank statements off, and sending bacs transfers through, or is this the second stage?0 -
I'm quite amazed that people that are prepared to deposit money with an organisation that does business through a website that carries a disclaimer saying they can take the website down any time they like, for as long as they like, for whatever reason they like, and you have absolutely no comebacks...
Not to mention that the hardheaded wholesale money markets will only lend them money at rates over 10 per cent...
Pretty brave choice to get half a percent more interest on savings...0 -
Oh Christ the scaremongers have arrived. Get a grip people, they are just covering themselves.
(no actually, they are going to wait until they have 1000 billion pounds and then take down the website and steal all the money MWHAHAHAH)
I've just read Sainsburys', A+L and Icesave's disclaimers, and they are all similar to Kaupthing Edge's.0 -
I was just going to say the same thing: is it not a relatively standard website disclaimer?0
