Bibbitybob wrote: »Evening all! I'm absolutely loving this thread. I received a Farrow & Ball catalogue in the post at the weekend and have found the perfect colour for my kitchen cabinets...except I'm not sure which colour it is!
Does anyone know what colour this is please? It's photographed on their oil eggshell range
I love the colour aswell it's amazing how some colours change in the light though.I wouldn't have guessed it was French Gray!0 -
I'm loving all the photos - they're great!
One of the things I find really hard is matching patterns. I know what's great when I look at a picture but I can't put things together myself. At the moment I'm thinking about making some curtains for my bedroom but I don't know what will go with my duvet cover. It's a traditional French pattern called souleiado - white with a raspberry coloured floral design. You can just about see it here, underneath the spotty pillowcases: http://www.cologneandcotton.com/acatalog/Souleiado.html The walls are white so I want something with a bit of warmth/depth, but not too heavy. Any ideas?0 -

How about this one mentioned in Glad's post:

Saw a beautiful bedspread from Cologne & Cotton in March edition of 25 beautiful homes. However it is not on their website. I suppose these magazines are done maybe a year in advance so probably out of stock now, but it was gorgeous.0 -

Usually the magazines have a list at the back of all the products in the photos. If you got the name of the pattern perhaps you could ring C&C up and ask if they have any in stock in their shops or track down a secondhand one via Ebay?0 -

www.zandsfabrics.com
They always have a great selection in their clearance section and at the minute there is an additional 15% of for order over $25.
I just placed an order for some pretty dainty florals. Great for bunting or quilt binding etc. We all know how important those finishing touches are for making a home look nice.
They can usually fit upto about 8 yards into a flat rate envelope so shipping is about $10.That meant I could order 8 yards of fabric and it still cost no more than £20 (incl shipping).Less than £3 a yard!! Even my favourite bargain fabric shop over here isn't that cheap!
You have to be careful with the customs side though as anything over £18 is eligible for customs charge.
Hope it helps you save money rather than spend more though.Fabric can become very addictive.I should show you my fabric cupboard sometime!
thanks for that info, i have a brand new sewing machine coming any day now and cant wait to get started, i've been researching fabrics for weeks! i've been caught out before with customs charges, so do you recommend keeping the order to under £18 (or whatever that is in dollars etc)?totally a tog!:D0 -
It was more of a quilted type bedspread and that would be the feature of the bed rather than the duvet cover I think. I am not very keen on total co ordination such as duvet cover and curtains being the same. I have just been looking at the fabric website you posted and Oh my goodness, how would you choose.
I love patterns/plains/stripes/ethnics/fresh/warm, you name it. I am so indecisive.
I am actually watching a William Morris cream self patterned bedspread on Ebay at the moment, I will see how far it goes.0 -
I wonder if anyone on here could give me any ideas for my daughters bedroom. She is 11 this year, so at that funny age between girl and teen. I have been thinking of sorting her room and giving it a make over. The problem is it is really small. She has one of those loft beds along the one long wall, a chest of drawers, her dolls house and a foam bed/chair along the other long wall (the one with the window on). And that's about it! At the moment we have a hanging rail instead of a wardrobe that fits under the loft bed as well as a 3 tier shelf unit which holds her CD player and DVD's. I would really like to get her a nice shabby chic wardrobe but what else can I do?£2 savers club. No.90. Aim £500.0
