Just went back to look at the shutters. They look really good. Some people just have a flair for these things, I wish I were one of them, I tend to steal ideas :o and there are plenty on here at the moment. :j

I agree, I think looking at others ideas, give us inspriation and lead to other ideas! I am really getting into the shabby chic thing, my house has always been a little shabby chic, nothing matches and I like it that way!

I really like this thread :j

I love looking through magazines for ideas.I wanted to make a scrap book with all the photos that inspire me rather than keep all the mags themselves.I bought a few old encylcopedia for 50p and tore out half the pages.(keeping interesting ones)Then I stick my torn out images into them as I go along.I've filled one and am onto the second. They make fantastic reference books and also are a great coffee table book.Everyone loves to flick through them. There are some pages here.

A scrapbooks a good idea. I've used to get the Makeover type magazines and there were loads of ideas in them that I cut out and stuck in a scrapbook. Same with the gardening books..................used some of the ideas but not all..............they looked lovely but wouldn't have been right for our humble little home

  • I do the same as you Mary... I have a scrapbook of ideas and inspiration!. I struggle to put the final look together tho... Know what I want - just not sure how to get there!.

One of these days I will master it - and hopefully at least one room will be shabby chic !! ;)

Ive searched high and low but have only found them in cream, pink or pale blue. The only green enamel jug I can find is this one:

Id be ever grateful if someone has seen the first style in green somewhere. :o

QS have got a green enamelled range that includes a jug like that.

Its a real temptation, especially this time of the year late afternoon when front room lights go on............I can't walk past someones window without having a quick glance..................our house faces straight on to the street and other people look in our window............I have a panic if the throws on the sofa haven't been straightened.......................lol

  • I have scrapbooked for around 6 years now :) I have a book of life for each of my daughters that are always being added too.

I also make little brown paper bag books for small occasions for friends and family!

It is great what you can do with a few scraps of paper, some glue and findings (charms, bits n bobs etc).............
