Hubby is completely outnumbered! He would love a minimalist pad somewhere to escape to.He does have the last word on what stays or goes though so don't feel sorry for him!! My home isn't quite as vintage as I would like. Some things are stored and displayed in rotation.

Well, I have to laugh at my husband, he always says he likes the minimalist japanese look :rotfl: but he doesn't realise that that, entails picking up your socks and boxers off the bedroom floor and not leaving his beloved newspapers piled so high that we need step ladders to reach the top so we can recycle them! he is a DIY enthusiast and loves starting new projects, he would like a water feature in our garden, but if you saw where we lived you would laugh, you step out of our garden and nearly into the sea:confused: and he wants a water feature:rolleyes:

I love looking at your website, so please keep the photos coming.

Jinny you are a star :D a free pattern is even better. I'll give it a go in some cheap fabric before spending money on the oilcloth. I love the apron made from 2 teatowels too. Brilliant. I have a feeling I won't be short on aprons now lol. Lots to practice :D

Hi, Loving this thread so much inspiration. I hoping someone can help me I am sure I saw a picture of a Cath Kidston crochet throw but can`t find it. Thanks in advance.
I can't find it on her website but there is a photo of one on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/78643045@N00/961471631/ Hope this helps. x
  • Had a good nosey around TK Maxx and had a great time. Loads and loads of 'our style' in there.

Whoever it was that was asking about Typhoon coffee/tea storage pots but couldnt afford them get down to TK Maxx NOW! (well in the morning lol). They had the large storage cannisters (tea, coffee, sugar) that are £10 each from Typhoon, in a boxed set for £9.99!!! I was soooo gutted they didnt have cream or pink, but bought the red for my friend and she was thrilled.
However I did pick up a Typhoon cream cheese plate/cover thats normally £15 for only £3! Bargain. Now Im going to end up with an OCD keep nipping in there to see if they get more cream Typhoon things in.

My OH does much the same and is supposed to be in the process of helping with the de-cluttering I'm trying to do.............yesterday he cleared out his books, went upsairs and was tidying the top of his chest of drawers while carefully stepping over pairs of socks, jeans, sweatshirts etc.............lol:rotfl:

My husband hates clutter, yet he will not throw anything out. We have a garage full of things piled so high and I have to abseil in there to get my bike out:eek: . Mind you he can always find anything when he needs it

Anyway, back to shabby chic, isn't this thread wonderful, I love looking at everything people have done in their homes and the crafts they do.:j

I've just realised the shabby chic'ers on here might like my paper hearts I made and posted about on the Christmas & special occasions board last year.

    Here's a photo of them:

And here's the link for instructions how to make them:

Obviously you could use the same technique to make other shapes!
:T*Thanks to all who posts comps * :j
