Heres another one in the US,but they do post to UK, its just annoying that P&P is the same price as the item! Im sure Ive seen that pattern for sale somewhere though.
I completely love the whole shape of it. I'm so disappointed though that postage is so much, theres no way I could afford that at the moment :( I'll have to keep looking. I did search ebay but couldnt find any others in that shape.

lol thanks Mags, i'm not sure I'm talented enough to make 1. I think i might have a go though, you don't get better at something unless you try (as I'm always telling the children). I do want a full 1 but how hard can it be to make one :rotfl:well very if you are me lol. I made a baby carrier for the girls though so I will try :D

    oooo thats lovely pipkin :T

did you find the pattern online or make it up yourself?

think my granddaughter would love some of that in her room and i've got some nice girly pinks etc in my knitting wool stash....

Mags, I made it myself (well I copied an item I saw for sale, but I figured out how to knit it myself if you see what I mean).

I just knitted different size triangles, then I picked up stiches along the 2 triangle edges (one side at a time) and knitted a border in moss stitch (the stich where it is one purl, one plain repeated) and cast off.. this border is then folded onto the triangle and sewn with invisible thread creating the triangles you see.

These are then sewn, with contrasting wool onto a length of cotton tape, (carry this plain stitch all the way along the tape just to decorate it) and knitted flowers in contrasting colours, with a button at the centre are sewn onto the ends of the cotton tape (remember to create a loop at the end of the tape by folding a small amount over and securing with a stitch as you sw along the tape).

They are not difficult, only thing I would say is to make the triangles bigger than you think you will need them as they don't look so big once they are bordered and sewn up, IYSWIM.

    Hope that helps a bit!

Why is it called oilcloth - where did the name originate?
